Written by a Sydney native, English, The Aussie Way: A Fun Guide to Australia’s Colourful Phrases, Words, and Expressions offers an amusing way for English or non-English speakers around the world to learn the colloquial phrases for which Australia is famous. This user-friendly reference provides words/phrases and meanings/synonyms by using an example sentence. Says the author, “For seven years I housed international students who were attending English language schools in Sydney, and I realised that although they had a good grasp of formal grammar, they struggled to understand not only colloquial English, but many of the commonly used phrasal verbs, which could not be found in a standard English/Spanish, French, etc., dictionary. It was then that I decided to start writing some of them down for future reference and it grew from there.”

What is a kingdom? What are the qualities of a kingdom? What makes up a kingdom? These are questions we westerners raise because we were never a part of a kingdom. The definition of a kingdom is "the territory or country subject to a king; an undivided territory under the dominion of a king or monarch." In other words, its king determines the qualities, characteristics, and nature of a kingdom. Those that dwell in that territory must have an understanding that it is the king that determines their way of thinking and living. We don't understand these qualities or characteristics that make up a kingdom. And because we don't fully understand it's difficult to get the full revelation of the kingdom of God. Jesus says that it is our heavenly Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom. But to receive the kingdom we must recognize and understand the king so we can receive the kingdom.

Preached at Enfield, Connecticut on July 8, 1741, this is perhaps the greatest sermon ever preached in America—and is certainly among the most well known. Owing to its forthright dealing with God’s wrath and His intense hatred of sin and the sinner, it is also one of the most controversial. Indeed, for more than three-quarters of the sermon Edwards lays down a relentless stream of the most vivid and horrifying descriptions of the danger facing unregenerate men. While it is difficult to read such graphic language, there is abundant hope in the sermon’s conclusion. Edwards puts it this way, “And now you have an extraordinary opportunity, a day wherein Christ has thrown the door of mercy wide open and stands calling and crying with a loud voice to poor sinners.” While those who would rather ignore God’s justice in favor of His mercy condemn Edwards and his sermon, those who were present and actually heard him preach that day reacted in a decidedly different manner. According to the diary of Reverend Stephen Williams who attended the sermon, “Before the sermon was done there was a great moaning and crying through the whole House, ‘what shall I do to be saved; oh, I am going to hell, etc.’” The diary goes on to indicate that Edwards had to interrupt his sermon and come down to minister to those who were under such awful conviction. And so, in spite of what the scoffers might think or say, “the amazing and astonishing power of God” was manifested among the people that day—with many falling not into the hands of an angry God, but into the arms of a mighty Savior.

The God of the universe is still in the business of healing and restoration. Travel to paradise as one financially devastated couple, their twenty-nine-year-old equine, and young goat take a flight-of- faith, leaving the economically challenged mountains of Southern California for the unknown, off- grid "tiny" lifestyle of a vintage, rented yurt on the Big Island of Hawaii. In My Year in a Yurt, Jen McGeehan tells the true story of how she and her husband, Pat, experienced a radical lifestyle change when they packed their bags, left their three-thousand-square- foot home with their realtor and, with over $600,000 in debt, unknowingly entered the Tiny House Movement. With foreclosure and bankruptcy hitching a free ride, Jen sent yet another prayer to heaven asking for God's divine intervention. My Year in a Yurt unearths life-changing treasure through thirty-eight stories that reveal the humorous, bittersweet, and miraculous experiences of the McGeehans as they stepped into a once-in-a-lifetime journey that would soon mirror a national lifestyle movement. Jen McGeehan is a motivational speaker, sharing her humorous yet inspiring stories of God's miraculous healing and restoration. As an accomplished equestrian and nature enthusiast, Jen was able to successfully transition from life in the fast lane of Southern California to the off-grid, back-to-nature farm life of the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii. She is the founder of the Annual Christian Women's Gathering, currently held on the Big Island of Hawaii. "And she is a" voice within the Tiny House Movement, both in Hawaii and beyond!
