All hell was raging against my mind. I needed some time alone with the Lord and to just be alone, away from everyone. I needed to calm myself down. The only solace I could find was in a washroom. In that little cubicle, totally at the end of myself, I surrendered to His will. Nothing else mattered at this point except what He wanted. Knowing I was in my Heavenly Father's hand, I cried "Lord by obedience I will go. Give me your words to say. Help me Lord " Sonia McLeod, a former alcoholic and drug addict, shares the miraculous story of how God delivered her from a street life of drugs, alcohol, and prostitution. Hear the heart of this woman as she takes us through a journey of faith amidst great tragedy, heartbreak, and betrayal. Cast aside by friends, family, and finally by her husband, she emerges from the ashes of ruin and rejection in the arms of her true lover, Jesus Christ. "I was not going to give up and die, but it was time to RISE UP in JESUS " "If God can do this in Sonia's life, He can do it in others. Pray for this book. It will touch many lives." ?-Reverend Ernie & Shirley Linklater, Full Gospel Aboriginal Ministries, Canada Sonia McLeod, a member of the Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada, is a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. Since the writing of this book she has pursued studies in Social Work, gotten married, and is working on reaching First Nation and indigenous communities across Canada and the world. Derek and Sonia McLeod are both ordained ministers and are the founders of His Beloved Remnant Ministries. They are currently working on establishing The House of Rahab, a Christ-based rehabilitation center for troubled women. Website: www.riseupmybeloved.com

Treatment of and reference to the Song of Songs by a variety of authors including Spenser and Milton. Many English Renaissance texts offer readings of the Song of Songs, by both well-known authors, such as Shakespeare, and the long neglected (William Baldwin, Robert Aylett, Abiezer Coppe and Lawrence Clarkson). This new study looks at the different traditions they represent, and most notably the balance in the tension of the Song of Songs as oral and written, carnal and spiritual. The introduction presents a historical and theoretical discussion of Canticles, using a Rabbinic model for juxtaposing orality and textuality; the author goes on to argue that from the time of ancient Sumer through medieval England motifs found in the Song of Songs are simultaneously sexual and spiritualjust as they are likewise oral and textual. By attempting to recover oral approaches to any text, we encounter a series of forces that act to balance an open, oral, and sexual understanding of the erotic biblical text against a more closed, textual and spiritual reading. This balance is then traced through works by Baldwin, Spenser, Aylett, Coppe, Clarkson and Milton. NOAM FLINKER is currently Chairperson at the Department of English, University of Haifa.

I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.… —from the Song of Songs Did you know that God loves you with a passion—and He wrote a love song to help you experience that love in a personal way? Tucked away in the pages of Scripture is one of the most fascinating and most misunderstood books of the Bible: the Song of Songs. Although the Song of Songs details a passionate, earthly love story, it is intended to illuminate the best love story, the intense love God has for us, His beloved. In He Calls You Beautiful, Bible teacher Dee Brestin explores this love song from God to reveal transformative truths for each of us, whether married, single, or widowed. With rich contemporary illustrations and insight from biblical scholars, Dee shows how God uses poetry and exquisite images to illuminate the intimacy that Jesus longs to have with you. God calls you to know His love not only in your head but also in your heart. He sings over you a song of love, a song of salvation, a song of hope. A Song of songs. Includes an in-depth Bible study for use individually or in a group setting.
