In recent decades few Christian themes have attracted as much attention as that of eschatology, or Christian hope. Resurrection, Apocalypse, and the Kingdom of Christ explores the meaning of this theme for Thomas F. Torrance, one of the twentieth-century's leading theologians. This study, the first of its kind, brings Torrance's eschatology to light through an exploration of the whole range of his corpus, including sermons, lectures, and correspondence. It also demonstrates that his eschatology is molded by momentous historical events such as World War II, the spread of communism, and the ecumenical movement. Out of all this, we realize that eschatology is a central component of Torrance's theology--so much so that it conditions his thinking on other Christian doctrines.

In this highly accessible discussion, Bart Ehrman examines the most recent textual and archaeological sources for the life of Jesus, along with the history of first-century Palestine, drawing a fascinating portrait of the man and his teachings. Ehrman shows us what historians have long known about the Gospels and the man who stands behind them. Through a careful evaluation of the New Testament (and other surviving sources, including the more recently discovered Gospels of Thomas and Peter), Ehrman proposes that Jesus can be best understood as an apocalyptic prophet--a man convinced that the world would end dramatically within the lifetime of his apostles and that a new kingdom would be created on earth. According to Ehrman, Jesus' belief in a coming apocalypse and his expectation of an utter reversal in the world's social organization not only underscores the radicalism of his teachings but also sheds light on both the appeal of his message to society's outcasts and the threat he posed to Jerusalem's established leadership.

Apocalypse Prophesied, describes God's 7,000-year plan for this earth, as supported by 1,000 Bible references. This plan includes 6,000 years of human history and 1,000 years of prophetic events yet to take place. With its many verses it has become like a miniature Bible that explains the Creator's plan for humanity and the reasons why we exist. The 10th chapter of this book focuses on the cuckoo clock analogy. It is a summary explanation of special historic events that correspond to parallel events that will take place during the 7 years of the Great Tribulation. We have a saying that history repeats itself, and this book demonstrates where it does so prophetically.

A profoundly decisive change in world history is on the horizon-a transition from governance under fallen man to a government from God Himself. Jesus Christ is going to return and reign over the world with perfect justice. Prophecies in the Bible tell us that due to the rebellion of man against his Maker the time leading up to the second coming of Christ will be intense. In this book, you will find answers to these questions: - What will the last days be like? - What will happen when Jesus returns? - What is the rapture and when will it occur? - How can I prepare for what is coming?
