The book is designed to open up both young and old people's minds to recognize God as the only true leader in their lives. It seeks to point out that each individual needs to look to the Creator for guidance in every aspect of his or her life. Emmanuel Ike has experienced numerous rescues in his life - ten to be exact - that can only be explained as divine interventions by God Himself. Emmanuel lost his mother at two years of age, lived in poverty, survived the Nigerian-Biafran War, escaped cruel taskmasters, came to America with little money or education, started a family, and found his way through the corporate world. Once in America, he encountered discrimination, financial setbacks, the loss of a son, and a near-death experience. In Rescued: My Stories of Divine Intervention, Emmanuel tells his life story for the first time. You will laugh, gasp, cry, and marvel as you learn how his faith in God and commitment to hard work enabled him both to make a way in America to raise his family, and also return to Africa to help his people. In these pages, Emmanuel will share the principles that have guided his life so that you can apply those concepts to your life as you face your own obstacles. If you are looking for a saga to inspire and challenge you, Rescued: My Stories of Divine Intervention is a book for you.

"An incredible story of repeated crushing news, events answered with despair then courage, perseverance, sacrifice, faith, hope, but mostly love." Overcome illustrates the personal anguish of cancer diagnosis, treatments, and unexpected effects of treatments that can occur later in life – something not often talked or written about. The author also shows what family members and caregivers might experience during these challenges. Overcome demonstrates that living with chronic illness is a physical, psychological and spiritual battle. God showed Glen that concentrating on his identity in Christ was key (Romans 8:1) to his faith. Embracing his sonship (Romans 8:14-17) made all the difference in his spirit and daily life. Overcome beautifully captures the rollercoaster of emotions, the trials and challenges the Kirkpatrick’s faced, and the importance of faith that prevails above all else.

Divine Disorder and the Rescue of God is based on the idea that a kenotic approach is essential to a viable theology. It is deeply influenced by the way such an approach influenced the writings of Donald MacKinnon. Part I argues that God forces us to live in a state of uncertainty, even about God’s existence. However compelling the sense of God’s presence may be, religious experience cannot take that uncertainty away. We have to understand what sort of God would want to impose upon us the disorder of uncertainty. Part II explores this further in terms of God’s willingness to give a degree of independence to the created order, while Part III compares the instability of the created order with that of the moral order. By giving human beings freedom, God opens up the possibility of failure, including that of God. The doctrine of the fall expresses the impossibility of giving human beings autonomy without risking disaster. In Parts IV and V the book looks more closely at the nature of this God who embraces risk, suffering, and even failure. Who is the deity behind this divine disorder? The focus from a Christian perspective is upon the risk, suffering, and failure displayed in the life of Christ. Jesus is drawn into something that it is beyond him to fathom—hence the troubled, uncertain character of his own life. But from a kenotic perspective, even a life marked by failure can be the focal point of God’s self-revelation.
