Thus both the experiment station director and the Office of Experiment Stations are required to exercise careful and discriminating judgment in bringing about a desirable degree of coordination in research, based upon broad knowledge and con sideration of related research in progress elsewhere and of the varying conditions under which it was initiated and is being prosecuted.
