Dutt, for assistance in going over these notes with me during the compilation of this Report. If a Report of a technical Meeting of this kind is to be of any use to those interested, whether they were present at the Meeting or not, I am convinced that it should be as full as possible, and in the present case no pains have been spared to achieve this end, with the result that this Report is practically an abstract of our current knowledge of Indian Crop-pests, and in this aspect will, I hope, be of some assistance to non entomological members of the Agricultural Departments and to others interested in the minimizing of damage to crops by insects.
