Concerning the claim of Archibald S. Bulloch, collector of the port of Savannah, James S. Bulloch, and Alexander Hunter, surveyor of the port of Savannah, for payment for services rendered the United States in the course of their duties. Slave trading ships were confiscated for violating laws prohibiting the slave trade. The Charleston Port Authority, a Mr. Jervey, enforced the law at his own expense and seeks compensation from the state for his efforts. The revenue had been collected by the Savannah port collector Archibald S. Bulloch.
