Realizations of a Yogi is a rare spiritual treasure. It chronicles the personal experience of a Yogi, AiR, Atman in Ravi. AiR started his life with Achievement, lived a life of Fulfilment and then evolved to the ultimate peak of Enlightenment. It is not a theory book but a book of practical experiences and spiritual revelations that can inspire and lead a seeker of the truth, of God to that state of Self Realization and God Realization. This book of Enlightenment is more profound than any scripture. It is beyond theology that is advocated in religion. If one is passionate about being liberated from this material world and being united with the Divine, ‘Realizations of a Yogi’ is the answer that will lead to that epiphany.

2014 Reprint of Original 1930 Edition. Exact facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. According to Yogananda, "Self-realization is the knowing - in body, mind, and soul - that we are one with the omnipresence of God; that we do not have to pray that it come to us, that we are not merely near it at all times, but that God's omnipresence is our omnipresence; that we are just as much a part of Him now as we ever will be. All we have to do is improve our knowing." According to an Amazon Reviewer: "This is an excellent little booklet which was originally given to Yogananda's initiates after initiation. It is of great value to those researching the legacy of Swami Yogananda. If you've ever wondered whether the techniques currently taught by SRF are the same as the techniques taught by Yogananda to his early disciples, then this booklet is for you. The major differences between the kriya yoga of this booklet and that of the current SRF initiation is as follows: 1) Mantra is "sung" in each chakra 2) Khechari (not by name) is discussed. 3) The path of the breath ("life force") is elliptical as it is explained in Autobiography of a Yogi. The techniques of this little booklet brought many of Yogananda's early disciples to Samadhi and beyond.

When it was published in 1946 it was the first introduction of many westerners to yoga and meditation. The famous opera singer Amelita Galli-Curci said about the book: "Amazing, true stories of saints and masters of India, blended with priceless superphysical information-much needed to balance the Western material efficiency with Eastern spiritual efficiency-come from the vigorous pen of Paramhansa Yogananda, whose teachings my husband and myself have had the pleasure of studying for twenty years."

Autobiography of a Yogi introduces the reader to the life of Paramahansa Yogananda and his encounters with spiritual figures of both the East and West. The book begins with his childhood family life, to finding his guru, to becoming a monk and establishing his teachings of Kriya Yoga meditation. The book continues in 1920 when Yogananda accepts an invitation to speak in a religious congress in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He then travels across America lecturing and establishing his teachings in Los Angeles, California. In 1935 he returns to India for a yearlong visit. When he returns to America, he continues to establish his teachings, including writing this book. The book is an introduction to the methods of attaining God-realization and to the spiritual thought of the East, which had only been available to a few in 1946. The author claims that the writing of the book was prophesied long ago by the nineteenth-century master Lahiri Mahasaya.
