One major threat to cities at present is the increasing rainstorm waterlogging hazards due to climate change and accelerated urbanization. This paper explores the mechanism of rainstorm waterlogging and enables the fine simulation of surface water propagation over complex urban terrain. A novel community-scale waterlogging modeling scheme is presented by loosely coupling a one-dimensional sewer model with a two-dimensional overland model under an open-source framework. The coupled model was applied to Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone located in Pudong New Area of Shanghai. To quantify the influence of rainfall intensity and drainage conditions on the waterlogging, 12 scenarios were constructed by combining four rainfall return periods (3, 5, 10, and 20 a) and three startup water depths (1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 m) of pump stations. The multi-scenario simulation results show that the waterlogging risk increases from north to south in the study area, and that risk zones with water depth above 0.3 m are mostly concentrated in the southwest and southeast corners of the site. The longer the rainfall return period, the larger the submerged area, and the spatial distribution of surface water accumulation is affected by local topography and drainage system. In addition, reducing the startup water depth of pump stations has an obvious effect on inhibiting the severity of water accumulation. The results provide insights into overland flow across an urban area with densely populated buildings and help to reduce the risk of rainstorm-induced waterlogging disasters.

This report compiles historical reports of important rainstorm and flood events in northwest British Columbia and the Queen Charlotte Islands for 1891 to 1991. Information presented for each event includes place and date, storm duration, precipitation data, storm damage details, and other relevant storm facts, along with a list of the source materials. The information is assembled in a chronological catalogue of events in order to aid in understanding the magnitude and frequency of the events described and to help in project planning, emergency planning, and risk assessment. Appendices include data on rainfall and streamflows, major storms and floods, and fatalities; a geographical index to storm and flood occurrences by rivers, creeks, and lakes; and summaries of probable precipitation amounts for meteorological stations in the region studied.

"When blood of Storm and blood of Rain, flow as one to mend their pain; darkness shall die and truth be regained, in shards of glass now broken and stained." In the epic tradition of fantasy classics, comes The Bloodline Chronicles. Rain Storm, takes you on a thrill ride through the battlefield of the mind, where the war between who we are and who we desire to be continually rages. Benjared Rain is a young man with a dark secret, threatened to be revealed with the coming of an estranged prophetess, and the sacred treasure she places within his hands. Ever aided by the angelic warrior, Mishael, and pursued by Galaina, an ancient demon, it will take the faith of an agnostic, the love of a harlot, and the naked truth of a broken heart to stand firm against the darkness seeking to devour their souls. Roy Dale Handshoe is an aspiring new author, residing in the hills of eastern Kentucky. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Alice Lloyd College, and is currently pursuing future endeavors to glorify God with his passion for writing and filming. Mr. Handshoe considers his writing as a form of worship, a way to pour himself out and be real before the God who made him. It is his prayer that through his novels, many will discover the delivering power of God that changed his own life.
