Indian Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It was prepared by the constituent assembly and it came into force on 26 January 1950. Under the constitution of India, governor plays the role of executive head of the state. He is appointed by the President on the recommendations of the Central Government. Constitution of India gives wide powers in the hands of governor. Governor plays an important role under Article 356 of the Constitution of India.
