Poetry 2Life is a compilation of poems written while observing and overcoming different phases of life. The poems were inspired by the pains faced while living and the spirit of determination to overcome them all. The poems were written from the perspective of different eyes: a child, a mother, a teacher, are just a few. This special collection of poetry is one that can be appreciated by all ages and hues. Each section of Poetry 2Life expresses the sentiments of three different phases of life: * Youth: Unlearned Innocence - a time where innocence leads to lessons learned. * Struggle: Pathway To Redemption - the experiences that can not be avoided by life yet give the stamina and wisdom to continue living * Love: Illuminated In The Dark - the beauty and the pain of life's most significant feeling. Poetry 2Life will be a reminder, that regardless of circumstances and locations, there is always a lesson to learn, a facet that can be appreciated after the storm. Allow the poetry in these pages to touch, inspire and motivate.

These poems were written to inspire. My life was all but sweet and smooth. I had and still have relationship problems, family drama, and depressing moments. I may be a unique person, but the things that I have seen and lived through, are not. I know that others have been through these things too. I want them to understand how I made it through, because if I can, so can they. I also think that the way I write is unique too, more storytelling than your regular haiku or a descriptive poem. I just write what I feel at that moment, and I have to be inspired to write. There are some funny, some sad, and some overcoming poems in this book, and I know you will enjoy the read.

They say that every 100 years or so, nature throws humans a curveball in the form of a pandemic. The effects, challenges, and changes may not be the same, still, a pandemic affects us all. But soon, everything we are experiencing will be part of history. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has not only slowed us down, but also changed the way we work, live, and plan for the future. Not only for the duration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), Modified ECQ, or General Community Quarantine (GCQ), but for a very long time. The Quarantined Thoughts book project (formerly called Coronavirus Chronicles) was created to give people something to do at home during the ECQ in March 2020. Our goal is to encourage everyone to chronicle life during a pandemic and help process thoughts and feelings through writing. Each of us has stories that deserve to be told. This is one of the many volumes. You can read Quarantined Thoughts Vol 1 here for free: https://bit.ly/ReadQTVOL1 This is Volume 2 with stories from: ✔️ Kath C. Unveiled, is a Poetic Portal N2 Life through Love, Lust, Pain and deceit. This anthology of adult poems contours the strengths and weaknesses of relationships. It distorts what seems real and makes a fantasy pure reality. My expressions are pure and simple with a twist. These poetic verses take on a life of their own and invite you to become a part of them. It will intoxicate your mind and free your spirit. It will take you into life, and touch on topics that most would not speak of. It leads you through lustful actions, allowing the flesh to lead; with no communication with the mind. Once the lust burns out it will then lead to pain. The feelings and experiences of pain leave a feeling of agony that cuts through to the bone. After pulling through the painful experiences, you are in a mist of confusion; thus leading you to search for the ultimate feeling. Love has no name, no protocol, no right or wrong way, its just love. Once you have experienced true lust, and real pain, you will understand that; you must live life to the fullest and be happy with your decisions. Love becomes the most dominant feeling and it transforms you, it changes the way you walk, you talk, you dress, it evens changes your way of writing. Layer by layer it all comes off, revealing the most inner thoughts and experiences, I give you, Unveiled!

Why do smokers claim that the first cigarette of the day is the best? What is the biological basis behind some heavy drinkers' belief that the "hair-of-the-dog" method alleviates the effects of a hangover? Why does marijuana seem to affect ones problem-solving capacity? Intoxicating Minds is, in the author's words, "a grand excavation of drug myth." Neither extolling nor condemning drug use, it is a story of scientific and artistic achievement, war and greed, empires and religions, and lessons for the future. Ciaran Regan looks at each class of drugs, describing the historical evolution of their use, explaining how they work within the brain's neurophysiology, and outlining the basic pharmacology of those substances. From a consideration of the effect of stimulants, such as caffeine and nicotine, and the reasons and consequences of their sudden popularity in the seventeenth century, the book moves to a discussion of more modern stimulants, such as cocaine and ecstasy. In addition, Regan explains how we process memory, the nature of thought disorders, and therapies for treating depression and schizophrenia. Regan then considers psychedelic drugs and their perceived mystical properties and traces the history of placebos to ancient civilizations. Finally, Intoxicating Minds considers the physical consequences of our co-evolution with drugs -- how they have altered our very being -- and offers a glimpse of the brave new world of drug therapies.

This book shares Irish and other's personal stories of abuse, addictions, grief, and depression. This famous work was the result of the wartime collaboration of two Scottish scholars. Their tracing of the course of English poetry has been described by The Times Literary Supplement as a 'volume of masterly compression'. They deliberately spend most time on the greatest poets, believing that, significant as traditions and influences are, the great poet himself affects the spirit of his age and moulds the tradition he has inherited. At the same time, enough attention is paid to minor poets to make the book historically complete, and to fill in the most important links in the chain of poetic development. Thus Gower is here, as well as Chaucer; Patmore, as well as Browning. Both in scope and in detail A Critical History of English Poetry is a distinguished and valuable work.
