In today's "global village", nearly 450 million people speak English while another 350 million speak Spanish. The United States alone, with its more than 22 million Hispanic Americans, is now considered by many to be a bilingual society. As the practice of law and the resolution of legal issues, to a great extent, is all about precise communication, the impact of this on legal and business professionals is obvious - Spanish/English, English/Spanish translations are fast becoming an indispensable component of any thriving law practice or business, be it a small company or a multinational corporation. Translations are now routinely required for trials, contracts, real estate and financial transactions, and in many other situations. Clearly then, the need for a comprehensive bilingual reference such as this one has never been greater. Wiley's English/Spanish and Spanish/English Legal Dictionary offers comprehensive, up-to-date coverage of more than 40,000 essential words and phrases spanning all legal disciplines and subdisciplines including construction, real estate, insurance, business, trial, environmental law, intellectual property, family law, and more. It was written by a professional translator in collaboration with an advisory committee comprising attorneys from some of the most prominent firms in the international legal community. Featuring an extremely user-friendly format, the Dictionary was designed for quick reference. It directs you instantly to the precise equivalent you need without first "rerouting" you through a maze of other irrelevant terms and phrases. Gender neutral equivalents are provided, and in cases where the nongender neutral term is the norm, both are given.Wiley's English/Spanish and Spanish/English Legal Dictionary puts all important English and Spanish legal terms at the fingertips of attorneys, businesspeople, paralegals, and law students. It belongs on the shelves of law firms, libraries, businesses, and international agencies. It is also an essential communications tool for translators, interpreters, and civil servants.

Written by a leading proponent of biophilic design, this is the only practical guide to biophilic design principles for interior designers. Describing the key benefits, principles and processes of biophilic design, Nature Inside illustrates the implementation of biophilic design in interior design practice, across a range of international case studies – at different scales, and different typologies. Starting with the principles of biophilic design, and the principles and processes in practice, the book then showcases a variety of interior spaces – residential, retail, workplace, hospitality, education, healthcare and manufacturing. The final chapter looks ‘outside the walls’, giving a case study at the campus and city scale. With practical guidance and real-world solutions that can be directly-applied in day-to-day practice, this is a must-have for designers interested in applying biophilic principles.

State and Institution Building in Ukraine represents the first in-depth and comprehensive study of state building in Ukraine. As opposed to previous books, which have focused on the political and economic transformation of the Soviet successor states, this volume argues that a market economy and democracy cannot exist in the absence of an effective state and governing institutions. Ukraine was only a quasi-state within the former USSR when it declared independence in August 1991, and thus it inherited only the rudiments of what is normally considered a "modern state." The development of a viable and capable state with effective institutions was prioritized by the executive and legislative branches who understood that a democracy, civil society, rule of law, and market economy could not be created in the absence of a genuine, functioning state. This study is the first to survey institution and state building in Ukraine by placing it within a comparative and theoretical perspective, challenging many of the current misconceptions about Ukraine and other post-Soviet countries.

States today are far more engaged in diplomacy than ever before, actively building relations with other states to harness their mutual commercial and cultural strengths. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s outlook to global affairs is no different, yet there is a nuanced approach in linking India’s foreign policy to domestic transformation. While on the one hand, his policies seek to attract foreign capital, technology and open foreign markets for Indian products, on the other, they are geared towards regional stability, peace and prosperity. All events are texts to be analysed and the authors in this volume do so but emphatically underline that India’s diplomacy under Modi has got a go-getting edge, that it is no longer foreign anymore but a matter of public affairs and that with Modi at the helm, India is set to leverage its role and make itself a ‘diplomatic superpower’. The nuanced and thought-provoking essays, by some of the most well-respected analysts and practitioners of diplomacy, make this book a must-read for not just professionals and serious readers but for the uninitiated as well.
