An abnud ance of such studies have been published. The competent teacher of today finds no difficulty in selecting suitable studies for each end to be attained, which collectively makes the pianist. A good teacher will insist on good practice, both in quantity and quality, and in a case where every means has been exhausted to bring this about without effect he will loose nothing in the long run by giving the pupil up.
