Stage 1+ First Sentences is a new colour band at a higher level of Stage 1 to bridge between First Words and Stage 2. Full sentences introduce National Literacy Strategy words required to be learnt by Reception Year pupils in imaginative and attractive stories which include: a game of hide andseek; a football game; mysterious footprints in the garden; some daring tricks on a bike; a sad time for Floppy; and Kipper keeping a diary.
