Norfolk County Virginia Guardian Accounts PDF Download

Norfolk County, Virginia is an extinct county which was formed in 1691 from Lower Norfolk County. Although several cities in southeastern Virginia annexed areas from Norfolk County before it became extinct, what was left became the Independent City of Chesapeake in 1963. Guardian accounts were supposed to have been filed yearly by the guardian until the ward was 21 years of age and any remaining property was turned over to the ward. As we can tell from the surviving guardian accounts yearly filings did not always occur, nor do they all survive. These accounts are intended to compliment the information found in Guardian Bonds as all wards with accounts do not have surviving bonds.
