Anti-Slavery Society: Presented January 27, 1841; With an Appendix Article The business of the Society, 'at its annual meeting, shall be transacted by its officers, and a delegation of each State, auxiliary as the State has representatives in the Congress of the United States. Provided, that in those States where more than one State Society exists, the delegation shall be' divided equally between the societies, if possible. If not, the society having the largest number of auxiliaries shall have the greater number of delegates. The business sessions of the society shall not be considered public meetings, unless by a Special vote' of the society; but all its m'atu_red action shall be made known, through the press, to whom it may concern. Anti-Slavery Society: Presented January 24, 1839; With an Appendix Resolved, That it be recommended to such state or other auxiliaries as are dis posed to take the charge ofthe abolition cause within their respective fields, to make arrangements with the Executive Committee of this Society, guaranteeing to our Treasury such stated payments as may be judged reasonable; and then assume with in their own limits the entire direction of lecturers and agents in forming local socie ties, collecting funds, circulating memorials, and establishing libraries; and that this society will not send its agents to labor for these objects in such states as carry out this plan, except in concurrence with the State Executite Committee.'
