Since 1994, the federal government has sponsored an annual discussion called the National Forum on Canada's International Relations, intended to encourage public views and contributions to foreign policy issues. This report summarizes the six meetings held across Canada during the 1996 Forum, which examined two key questions: the future of peacekeeping and peace building, and the creation of an international strategy for communicating Canada's messages abroad. Some delegates looked at the issue of child labour. Policy options resulting from the meetings are outlined under the issues discussed in each of those two areas.
