This book is a semibiographical novel of the Pizzutos, a unique and funny couple from Mamaroneck, New York. It recalls their lives and how close they always were in physical proximity from each other, until destiny united them in 1980. They side swiped each other at the fork of destiny's road and fused into the Pizzutos. Hysterically comical in parts, this book evolves into many separate recollections of what actually happened to them since they moved into the home that they resided in for the last thirty years. As destiny would have it, they were childless. The two cats in this book can be found buried in the backyard alongside another cat called Goldie and other pets, including goldfish and other critters. All the names have been changed, but all their relatives know who they are. Lots of laughs. This book is basically a sequel to the author's last novel called Little Jimmy. Anyhow, it has all the flavors of very odd situational comedy, embedded in nonconventional spirituality. In addition, it reveals how destiny has its way with us all. Read it by candlelight, preferably on a rocking chair in front of a lit fireplace. If one does not have a fireplace, they can tuck themselves in bed, read themselves to sleep, and begin to dream dreams just like the Pizzutos did. If one likes to laugh and still enjoys a good easy read, this novel contains both qualities!

First released in 1969, during a time of great uncertainty for the Philippines, this unauthorized biography of one of the most intriguing women in the world was banned in her own country. For writing it, Carmen Pedrosa, with her family, was exiled to London for 20 years.Despite that, The Untold Story of Imelda Marcos became a local and international hit, selling out all of its print runs. Now, decades after the end of Martial Law, the book returns to tell the story of Imelda Romualdez-Marcos to a new generation.A modern Cinderella tale, The Untold Story of Imelda Marcos tells of how she rose from being a destitute child to becoming the most powerful woman of the country. Starry-eyed, penniless, and provincial, Imelda was in search of good fortune in Manila. Then came Ferdinand E. Marcos, a knight in shining armor, rescuing her from poverty and misery. "e;I will make you the First Lady of the land,"e; he promised her.Complete, detailed, and replete with facts and documents that have been painstakingly hidden from the public by the administration's image-makers, her life story unfolds, one truth at a time. It explains Imelda's much vaunted charisma that, in President Marcos' own words, garnered one million votes in the 1965 elections. She is a person who is difficult to be indifferent to. This book tells us why.

Schoolland depicts the daily life of a Mexican American family in rural Texas during the year of a great drought in the 1950Ís. Struggles with nature and society form the backdrop for the eternal tale of a child coming of age as his grandfather is waning. Rural life, dialects and family conflicts are all rendered poetically and with the authenticity of having been born and raised in Schoolland, Gonzales, Smiley, Texas„as was MartÕnez„and with the modern, critical eye of having returned to the family farm to examine the past„as did MartÕnez. We are all, consequently, enriched by this portrayal of Texas Mexican life as it has never before appeared in American literature.
