My writing style is like a wheel. I begin with the hub then branch out into other tales; however, before it all ends, I bring it back so that it all makes sense. Im able to describe a murder as well as sex without resorting to explicit detail like so much found in todays fiction. By the proper use of language, I accomplish the same emotional response from my readers. The reader often finds interesting essays that digress from or adds to the main plot. They might include slices of local history or an explanation why certain things appear as they do. My stories are told with the reader in mind. The plots are fast moving and contain enough surprises to hold the readers attention. The Tennessee Mountain Man is my third book. It takes a popular character from the first bio novel, Renos Funmakers, and gives his exploits after five years of marriage. The year is 1861, and the trouble down at Fort Sumter, in South Carolina, not only changes the United States but Jack Leffingwell and his family. Along with the main plot, my books never fail to offer the reader information that was previously unknown, making it a learning experience.

The highly anticipated new novel from Natalie Lloyd, the critically acclaimed, bestselling author of A Snicker of Magic! Twelve-year-old Mallie knows better than to dream. In Coal Top, you live the story you're given: boys toil in the mines and girls work as servants. Mallie can't bear the idea of that kind of life, but her family is counting on her wages to survive. It wasn't always this way. Before the Dust came, the people of Coal Top could weave starlight into cloth. They'd wear these dreaming clothes to sleep and wake up with the courage to seek adventure . . . or the peace to heal a broken heart. But now nothing can penetrate Coal Top's blanket of sorrow. So when Mallie is chosen for a dangerous competition in which daring (and ideally, orphaned) children train flying horses, she jumps at the chance. Maybe she'll change her story. Maybe she'll even find the magic she needs to dream again. But the situation proves even more dangerous when Mallie uncovers a sinister mystery at the heart of Coal Top's struggles -- a mystery some powerful people will do anything to protect.

Book two in the award-winning young adult Austin Family Chronicles series from Madeleine L’Engle, author of A Wrinkle in Time, Vicky Austin experiences the difficulties and joys of growing up. As if simply being fourteen-years-old weren't bad enough—what with the usual teenage angst and uncertainty, Vicky Austin's always comforting and reliable home life is changing completely. Her brother John is going off to college in the fall. Maggy, an orphan taken in by the Austins two years ago, has gone to live with her legal guardian. And the rest of Vicky's family is moving from their quiet house in the country to the heart of New York City. But before the big move, the entire Austin family is taking a meandering trip across the country in their station wagon, stopping to camp along the way, with no set schedule and not a single night of camping experience among them. Wild animal attacks. Life-threatening natural disasters. Cute boys on the prowl. Anything can happen in the great outdoors.
