In this volume on the Holy Spirit, “Missed Treasures” designates the rich pneumatologies in the New Testament books and letters beyond Paul, John, and Luke-Acts. Depictions of the Holy Spirit in Matthew, the Letter of James, Revelation, and other books are analyzed and incorporated into the theological tapestry of New Testament thought. Another unique feature of this volume is its focus on the numinous presence of God in the sweep of Israel’s history; there are chapters on the Septuagint, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Wisdom of Solomon that trace Christian pneumatology back to its source, the Hebrew Scriptures. In short, this volume expands the scholarly conversation exponentially as it explores a complement of texts spanning the New Testament and reaching back into the Hebrew Scriptures. A lucid guide to the distinctive pneumatologies of the New Testament, this collection is must reading for all who would engage the dialogue between scriptural study and systematic theology.

'Owen on the Holy Spirit', as this work has been known to generations of Christians, was written by the greatest theologian of the Puritan era. It is, without question, one of the truly great Christian books. Originally published in 1674 as Pneumatologia, or A Discourse concerning the Holy Spirit, it is a massive work, taking up 650 pages in the Banner of Truth edition of Owen's Works (Volume 3). It deals with the name, nature, personality and operations of the Spirit, and urges the necessity of gospel holiness as distinct from mere human morality. The work is both doctrinal and pastoral in character. The very length and exhaustiveness of the original book could easily deter us from attempting to read it, but this abridged and modernized version prepared, like the earlier volumes in the series, (Apostasy from the Gospel, Communion with God and The Glory of Christ), by Dr. R. J. K. Law will make Owen's teaching more accessible to modern readers.

Who is the Holy Spirit and how can you walk in His power? Jesus walked in the power of the Holy Spirit and declared His disciples would do even greater works (Luke 4:14, John 14:12). Today, God’s power can still be released in and through Christians who will meet the Holy Spirit on His terms. In this book, the author introduces the ministry of the Holy Spirit, how His power can transform us and why we should know Him in all His fullness, as an indwelling Person. Drawing from the powerful experiences of Rees Howells, Evan Roberts and many other influential servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, the author unveils the secrets of going deeper with God, and how to grow beyond being blessed by the Holy Spirit, to be filled with the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). Paul Backholer is a British broadcaster and the founder of ByFaith Media (www.ByFaith.org). He is the director of ByFaith TV which airs on multiple platforms around the world and is the producer of several Christian documentaries. Paul is the author of Heaven: A Journey to Paradise, How Christianity Made the Modern World, The Exodus Evidence and The Ark of the Covenant – Investigating the Ten Leading Claims. Paul studied in a British Bible college in the 1990s and has travelled to over forty nations on Christian endeavours.
