The Tail of Max the Mindless Dog, A Children's Book on Mindfulness is a perfect book for children who have habits that interfere with their ability to live happy and healthy lives. Due to no fault of his own, Max's tail was frequently injured. Believing his tail to be the source of his pain, he set out on a quest to catch his tail and tie it a knot. This decision resulted in Max developing a habit of running in circles; he missed out on all the fun others were experiencing. It was only when his friend, Ross, introduced him to Mindfulness that Max replaced his harmful habit with positive, more productive ones. When Max became an older dog, he saw a puppy chasing his tail, remembering the days he did the same, Max shares the words he learned from Ross with him and the puppy learns Mindfulness. Max teaches children how to apply the belly breath, count of ten, and words of affirmation. It shows them how to make positive choices concerning behavior rather than doing "what they have always done." The poem Max quotes allow parents and children to replace the words "chase my tail" with other words that represent the child's area of concern.

Simple and fun mindfulness activities to do with children up to age 11 to build beneficial lifelong skills that promote resilience, joy, focus and calm, and improve overall wellbeing. Helping children to be more mindful is a powerful gift. By being mindful they will learn to recognise and manage their emotions, be more able to calm down when they are upset, become better at focusing on important tasks, and be more able to interact with others with empathy and generosity. These are fundamental skills that children will need throughout their life, but that they often aren't taught explicitly. Think of how often we demand that children "pay attention" or "calm down", without ever having shown them how to do so. Now parents can, with help from mindfulness expert Sarah Rudell Beach. Parents first learn how to be more mindful themselves before teaching their children basic mindfulness skills. With easy-to-follow activities, chapter by chapter children learn to Soothe, Focus, Feel, Pause, Appreciate and Connect. Each activity includes variations for different age groups, along with "emergency" how-tos for particularly stressful moments.

Empowering Mindfulness for Women is centred around a a 5-day intensive mindfulness course attended by eight women from different backgrounds. The reader is invited to imagine they are actively participating in the teaching and learning moments and turning points encountered in teaching and learning mindfulness around themes such as making space for mindfulness, safeguarding mindfulness for women, engendering mindfulness, mindfulness dreaming and a mandala of wisdoms. Evocative accounts of experience bring to life the women’s growing awareness that mindfulness can be both a separate practice and a natural part of life and that it can help them to nurture what they have neglected in themselves by not tapping into the full spectrum of their experience. Each chapter provides useful follow-up activities and questions for individual or group reflection, journaling, sharing and conversation. Empowering Mindfulness for Women is aimed at those who teach mindfulness to women in educational, community or clinical settings and at women who want to learn mindfulness in a manner that positions them as experts in their own learning.
