The authors present measurements of the semileptonic decays B− → D°?− {bar?}{sub?}, B− → D*°?−{bar {nu}}{sub?}, {bar B}° → D?− {bar {nu}}{sub?}, and {bar B}° → D*+?−{bar {nu}}{sub?}, which are sensitive to non-Standard Model amplitudes in certain scenarios. The data sample consists of 232 x 106?(4S) → B{bar B} decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e− collider. They select events with a D or D* meson and a light lepton (l = e or?) recoiling against a fully reconstructed B meson. They perform a fit to the joint distribution of lepton momentum and missing mass squared to distinguish signal B → D{sup (*)}?− {bar {nu}}{sub?} ({tau}− → l− {bar {nu}}{sub l}{nu}{sub {tau}}) events from the backgrounds, predominantly B → D{sup (*)} l−{bar {nu}}{sub l}. They measure the branching-fraction ratios R(D) {triple_bond}?(B → D{tau}− {bar {nu}}{sub {tau}})/?(B → Dl− {bar {nu}}{sub {ell}}) and R(D*) {triple_bond}?(B → D*{tau}− {bar {nu}}{sub {tau}})/?(B → D* {ell}− {bar {nu}}{sub {ell}}) and, from a combined fit to B− and {bar B}° channels, obtain the results R(D) = (41.6 ± 11.7 ± 5.2)% and R(D*) = (29.7 ± 5.6 ± 1.8)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic. Normalizing to measured B− → D{sup (*)0} {ell}− {bar {nu}}{sub {ell}} branching fractions, they obtain?(B → D{tau}− {bar {nu}}{sub {tau}}) = (0.86 ± 0.24 ± 0.11 ± 0.06)% and?(B → D*{tau}− {bar {nu}}{sub {tau}}) = (1.62 ± 0.31 ± 0.10 ± 0.05)%, where the additional third uncertainty is from the normalization mode. They also present, for the first time, distributions of the lepton momentum,

We present measurements of the semileptonic decays B− → D°?−{bar {nu}}{sub?}, B− → D{sup *0}?−{bar {nu}}{sub?}, B− → D?−{bar {nu}}{sub {tau}}, and B− → D{sup *+}{tau}−{bar {nu}}{sub {tau}}, which are potentially sensitive to non-Standard Model amplitudes, The data sample comprises 232 x 106?(4s) → B{bar B} decays collected with the BABAR detector. From a combined fit to B− and {bar B}° channels, we obtain the branching fractions?(B → D{sub {tau}}−{bar {nu}}{sub {tau}}) = (0:86 ± 0:24 ± 0:11 ± 0:06)% and?(B → D*{tau}−{bar {nu}}{sub {tau}}) = (1:62 ± 0:31 ± 0:10 ± 0:05)% (normalized for the {bar B}°), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and normalization-mode-related.

Semileptonic B meson decays into final states containing the [tau] lepton are of interesting as they provide information on the Standard Model as well as a window on new physics effects. We present results on {bar B} → D{sup (*)} [tau]{bar {nu}}{sub {tau}} decays where the second B in the event is fully reconstructed.

Measurements of the branching fractions for the Cabibbo-favored decay tau− .-->. rho−.nu./sub tau/ and the Cabibbo-suppressed decay tau− .-->. K*−(892).nu./sub tau/ are presented. The energy dependence of the tautau− production cross section is measured with the aid of the decay tau− .-->. rho−.nu./sub tau/, which yields a measurement M/sub tau/ = (1790 +- 40) MeV. A 2 sigma upper limit for the forbidden decay tau− .-->. K*−(1430).nu./sub tau/ is also presented. 3 figures.

We present the results of a search for four exclusive semileptonic decays B → D{sup (*)}[tau]−{bar [nu]}{sub [tau]} in 209 fb−1 of data collected with the BABAR detector, corresponding to 232 million e+e- → [Upsilon](4S) → B{bar B} events. We select events with a D{sup (*)} meson and a light lepton (e or [mu]) recoiling against a fully-reconstructed B meson. We perform a fit to the lepton spectrum and missing mass squared to discriminate signal events from backgrounds, predominantly B → D{sup (*)}{tau}−{bar [nu]}{sub {tau}}. A control sample of identified D**l−{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}} events is included in the fit to estimate the background contribution from these decays. We measure [beta](B → D{sub {tau}{nu}}) = (0.86±0.24±0.11±0.06)% and [beta](B → D*{sub {tau}{nu}}) = (1.62±0.31±0.10±0.05)%, where the errors are statistical, systematic, and normalization-mode related, respectively, and where the results are expressed for the {bar B}° lifetime.

This work presents simultaneous branching fraction measurements of the decay modes [tau]- 2!K- n[pi]0[nu][tau] with n = 0,1,2,3 and [tau]- 2![pi]- n[pi]0[nu][tau] with n = 3,4. The analysis is based on a data sample of 427 x 106 [tau]+[tau]- pairs recorded with the BABAR detector, which corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 464.4 fb-1. The measured values are [beta]([tau]- 2!K-[nu][tau]) = (6.57 ± 0.03 ± 0.11) x 10-3, [beta]([tau]- 2!K-[pi]0[nu][tau]) = (4.61 ± 0.03 ± 0.11) x 10-3, [beta]([tau]- 2!K- [pi]0[pi]0[nu][tau]) = (5.05 ± 0.17 ± 0.44) x 10-4, [beta]([tau]- 2!K-[pi]0[pi]0[pi]0[nu][tau]) = (1.31 ± 0.43 ± 0.40) x 10-4, [beta]([tau]0 2![pi]0[pi]0[pi]0[pi]0[nu][tau]) = (1.263 ± 0.008 ± 0.078) x 10-2 and [beta]([tau]0 2![pi]0[pi]0[pi]0[pi]0[pi]0[nu][tau]) = (9.6 ± 0.5 ± 1.2) x 10-4, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. All measurements are compatible with the current world averages whereas the uncertainties are significantly smaller by a factor of up to five. The determination of [beta]([tau]0 2![pi]-[pi]0[pi]0[pi]0[pi]0v[tau]) is the first measurement of this branching fraction. The measured branching fractions are combined with the current world averages. Using the new averages, an updated determination of.

Measurements of the branching fractions for the Cabibbo favored decays tau− .-->. rho− .-->. .pi.−.nu./sub tau/ and the Cabibbo suppressed decay mode tau− .-->. K*− (892).nu./sub tau/ are presented. The energy dependence of the tautau− production cross section is obtained for the decays tau− .-->. rho−.nu./sub tau/ and these spectra agree well with the classification of the tau− as a spin-1/2 point particle. Fits to the production cross section yield a measurement of M/sub tau/ = (1787 +- 10) MeV/c2 for the tau mass. Ninety-five percent confidence upper limits for the forbidden decay tau− .-->. K*−(1430).nu./sub tau/ and the tau neutrino mass are presented.
