Using 818 pb[-]1 of e+ e[-] collisions recorded at the [psi](3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at CESR, we determine absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral D mesons using a double tag technique. Among measurements for three D0 and six D+ modes, we obtain reference branching fractions B(D0 [RIGHTWARDS ARROW] K [-] [pi]+) = (3.906 ± 0.021 ± 0.062)% and B(D+ [RIGHTWARDS ARROW] K [-] [pi]+ [pi]+) = (9.157 ± 0.059 ± 0.125)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic errors. Using an independent determination of the integrated luminosity, we also extract the cross sections [sigma](e+ e[-] [RIGHTWARDS ARROW] D0 D0) = (3.650 ± 0.017 ± 0.083) nb and [sigma](e+ e[-] [RIGHTWARDS ARROW] D+ D[-]) = (2.920 ± 0.018 ± 0.062) nb at a center of mass energy, Ecm = 3774 ± 1 MeV.

The branching fractions of decays of the D+s meson normalize many measurements of processes involving charm quarks. Using 298 pb-1 of e+e- collisions recorded by the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we determine absolute branching fractions for eight D+s decays with a double tag technique. In particular we determine the branching fraction BD+s & rarr; K-K +pi+) = (5.50 +/- 0.23 +/- 0.16)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic respectively. The uncertainty in these determinations is roughly a factor of two better than previous world averages. We also search for possible CP asymmetries and provide partial branching fractions for kinematic subsets of the K-K+pi + decay mode.

The recent CLEO-c results on hadronic decays of D and D{sub s} mesons are presented. First the absolute branching fractions for D and D{sub s} mesons using a double tag technique are discussed, then are the Cabibbo suppressed decays and doubly Cabibbo suppressed decays. Finally, I present the inclusive and rare decay modes and other measurements from CLEO-c. These decays illuminate a wide range of physics. A brief theoretical introduction is given before the corresponding discussion on measurement.

The absolute branching fractions for the decays D{sub s}− → l−{bar?}{sub l} (l = e,?, or?) are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 521 fb−1 collected at center of mass energies near 10.58 GeV with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II ee− collider at SLAC. The number of D{sub s}− mesons is determined by reconstructing the recoiling system DKX? in events of the type e+e−DKXD*{sub s}−, where D*{sub s}− → D{sub s}−? and X represents additional pions from fragmentation. The D{sub s}− → l°{nu}{sub {ell}} events are detected by full or partial reconstruction of the recoiling system DKX?{ell}. The branching fraction measurements are combined to determine the D{sub s}− decay constant f{sub D{sub s}} = (258.6 ± 6.4 ± 7.5) MeV, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

The absolute branching fractions for the decays $D^-_s\rightarrow\ell^-\bar{\nu}_{\ell}$ ($\ell=e$, $\mu$, or $\tau$) are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 521 fb$^{-1}$ collected at center of mass energies near 10.58 GeV with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II $e^+e^-$ collider at SLAC. The number of $D_s^-$ mesons is determined by reconstructing the recoiling system $DKX\gamma$ in events of the type $e^+e^-{\rightarrow}DKXD^{*-}_s$, where $D^{*-}_s\rightarrow D^-_s\gamma$ and $X$ represents additional pions from fragmentation. The $D^-_s\rightarrow\ell^-\nu_{\ell}$ events are detected by full or partial reconstruction of the recoiling system $DKX\gamma\ell$. The following results are obtained: $B(D^-_s \to \mu^- \nu) = (6.02 \pm 0.38 \pm 0.34) \times 10^{-3}$, $B(D^-_s \to \tau^- \nu) = (5.00 \pm 0.35 \pm 0.49) \times 10^{-2}$, and $B(D^-_s \to e^- \nu)
