Hannah Ryggen was born in 1894 in Malmö, Sweden, and lived until her death on a farm in Norway. Over fifty years, the artist wove tapestries with critical contemporary motifs. In her introduction to Ryggen's notebook, Marta Kuzma recapitulates the crucial phase at the beginning of the world economic crisis of 1928, when the rise of fascism in Europe caused an existential dilemma for many people. Walter Benjamin described the precariousness of the situation with the figure of a "little hunchback," as a metaphor for the broken and desperate situation in which many Europeans were stuck. Instead of falling into resignation, the pacifist, communist, and feminist Ryggen materialized her thoughts about her time in an unsuspicious medium. In a deeply ideological and fear-driven time, she hung her hand-woven tapestries that depicted and reordered the power constellations and atrocity of society in dreamlike sceneries outside her window during the German occupation of Norway. With images, a short autobiography of the artist, and a textile-coloring recipe. Hannah Ryggen (1894–1970) was a Norwegian artist, born in Sweden. Marta Kuzma (*1964) is a curator and lecturer, and Director of the Office for Contemporary Art Norway, Oslo; she is a member of dOCUMENTA (13)'s Core Agent Group. Language: English/German

In June of 2010, Don and Joe gathered together over 200 Chicago actors and directors and over eleven nights presented 26 shows each featuring two weeks worth of sketches (although one has 15 scenes). Yep. Crazy. All 365 comedy sketches are collected in this book along with a complete list of directors and actors from the Strawdog shows. Antigonas: Writing from Latin America is the first book in the English language to approach classical reception through the study of one classical fragment as it circulates throughout Latin America. This interdisciplinary research engages comparative literature, Latin American studies, classical reception, history, feminist theory, political philosophy, and theatre history. Moira Fradinger tracks the ways in which, since the early nineteenth century, fragments of Antigone's myth and tragedy have been persistently cannibalized and ruminated throughout South and Central America andthe Caribbean, quilted to local dramatic forms, revealing an archive of political thought about Latin America's heterogeneous neo-colonial histories. Antigona is consistently characterized as a national mother and, as the twentieth century advances, multiplied on stage, forming female collectives, foregrounding the urgency of systemic change or staging gender politics. Through meticulous examination of classical culture in necolonial contexts, Fradinger explores ways of reading Creole texts from the geopolitical South that disrupt the colonial reading protocols that deracinate texts or lockthem into locality. By historicizing Antigona plays and interpreting them with a purpose to address specific colonial legacies, the book reveals how Antigona has ceased being Greek and instead tells stories of twentieth- and twenty-first-century Latin America. Antigonas rethinks the paradigmsthrough which we understand the presence of ancient cultural materials in former colonial territories, while illuminating an understudied continent in Anglophone reception studies.

The body of a film actress known as Christine Clay is discovered at the edge of the surf on a beach in Kent. She is initially thought to be the victim of a drowning accident, but the presence of a button tangled in her hair leads Inspector Alan Grant to conclude she has been murdered. Suspicion quickly falls on her friend and house guest, Robert Tisdall. Tisdall was rescued from a life of poverty when Clay randomly encountered him in London and offered him hospitality out of kindness. The day before the murder, Clay wrote to her lawyer instructing him to add a codicil to her will bequeathing a small portion of her estate to Tisdall. This is strong evidence against Tisdale, but Inspector Grant's intuition urges him to keep investigating. As more clues are revealed it becomes clear that more than one people wanted young actress dead and could have a benefit from her death.
