Now is the time to start designing the life that you've always wanted to create. Let's begin your journey to Make Fit Happen! - About the Author - Early in my life, I was very involved in many activities and benefited from a relatively nutritious diet. Fortunately, this lead to good overall physical health for me growing up. However, I experienced a brief time in my late 20's when I became somewhat overweight. I felt and performed worse than I ever had before and realized that I needed to get back on track. That is when I committed to being much more intentional with my health and fitness goals. As a result, I began to actively pursue a healthy lifestyle and searched passionately for the best ways to do it. The culmination of this knowledge and experience led to the creation of Make Fit Happen. I knew that the principles and information that guided me towards a more active and healthier lifestyle, would be beneficial for others as well! Currently, for physical activity and recreation, I enjoy strength training and hiking with my family, which are two of my favorite activities. Also, I continue to play adult league soccer, which is a sport I've played my whole life and in college. I enjoy running and have completed both a half and full marathon. During the winter months, I love to downhill ski, whenever the opportunity presents itself. I also like to do home improvement and landscaping projects. I live in the Midwestern United States with my wife, Heather and our three children. Ryan

It's an unquestioned truth of modern life: we are starved for time. We tell ourselves we'd like to read more, get to the gym regularly, try new hobbies, and accomplish all kinds of goals. But then we give up because there just aren't enough hours to do it all. Or if we don't make excuses, we make sacrifices- taking time out from other things in order to fit it all in. There has to be a better way...and Laura Vanderkam has found one. After interviewing dozens of successful, happy people, she realized that they allocate their time differently than most of us. Instead of letting the daily grind crowd out the important stuff, they start by making sure there's time for the important stuff. When plans go wrong and they run out of time, only their lesser priorities suffer. Vanderkam shows that with a little examination and prioritizing, you'll find it is possible to sleep eight hours a night, exercise five days a week, take piano lessons, and write a novel without giving up quality time for work, family, and other things that really matter.
