Louisa May Alcott (November 29, 1832 – March 6, 1888) was an American novelist, short story writer and poet best known as the author of the novel Little Women (1868). Her youngest sister May died in 1879 and Louisa took over the care of her niece, Lulu, who was named after Louisa and hence the name of these books – this being the second of three volumes. Alcott just managed to complete the 3 volumes as a lasting reminder for Lulu before she, herself, passed. The 12 stories in this volume were previously published by Alcott under the title "Flower Fables", they are: 1. Recollections of My Childhood 2. A Christmas Turkey, and How It Came 3. The Silver Party 4. The Blind Lark 5. Music and Macaroni 6. The Little Red Purse 7. Sophie's Secret 8. Dolly's Bedstead 9. Trudel's Siege In all, Lulu's Library is a collection of 32 children’s short stories in three volumes written between 1886–1889. 10% of the profit from this book is donated to charities. ============== KEYWORDS/TAGS: Lulu, Library, Louisa May Alcott, Little Women, May Alcott, Lulu alcott, children’s stories, volume 3, Recollections, Childhood, Christmas Turkey, Silver Party, Blind Lark, Music, Macaroni, Little, Red, Purse, Sophie, Secret, Dolly, Bedstead, Trudel, Siege

Who wants to practice the piano? Certainly not Lulu. She'd rather listen to her swing squeak, the bell on her bike ring, or the apples thump as she climbs a tree. Even her shoes play a tip-tap tune as she runs on the sidewalk. Before she knows it, it's Friday afternoon and time for her piano lesson. Lulu's heart sinks. She hasn't practiced all week. Luckily, Lulu's teacher knows how to inspire his small student. A musician herself, Arlene Alda played the clarinet in the Houston Symphony. She understands how one little girl's imagination and a wise teacher can help us all discover the music around us and the fun of expressing that music on the piano. Perfectly complemented by Lisa Desimini's delightful cut-paper collage and digital illustrations, Lulu's Piano Lesson is truly a memorable one.
