A spreadsheet-based model, LSY (Log-sort Yard Cash Flow Analysis), has been constructed to aid in the pre-feasibility and financial feasibility analysis of log-sort yards. It is meant to be referred to concurrently with this documentation and is available for downloading at no cost from the Forest Products Laboratory's website at: http://www.fpl.fs.fed.us/documnts/fplgtr/fpl_gtr184/. The model is flexible, allowing up to 20 species and grades that each may be sorted into up to 19 products, giving a total of 380 different output possibilities. The mix of those species and grades can be allowed to change over time. Sort-yard operating hours and productivity and number and type of employees can be changed over time. Cash flows reflect automatic replacement of capital equipment when it is projected to wear out. Data on various pieces of capital equipment and equipment configurations can be stored so that cost comparisons can easily be made between different sorting systems.

Download Analytical Approaches for Reinforced Concrete Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Analytical Approaches for Reinforced Concrete presents mathematically-derived theories and equations for RC design and construction. The book applies deductive reasoning, logic and mathematics to RC. Laying out, deductively, the principles of RC, it encourages researchers to re-imagine and innovate using a solid conceptual framework. Sections consider the reasoning behind key theories, as well as problems that remain unsolved. The title presents key ideas in simple language and illustrates them clearly to help the reader grasp difficult concepts and develop a solid foundation, grounded in mathematics, for further study and research. The book is future-oriented, demonstrating theories that are applicable not only to conventional reinforced concrete members, but also to the envisaged structures of tomorrow. Such developments will increasingly require a deep, deductive understanding of RC. This title is the first of its kind, presenting a fresh analytical approach to reinforced concrete design and construction. Takes an analytical approach to reinforced concrete using mathematics and deduction Lays out the reasoning behind key theories and models in reinforced concrete design and construction Encourages researchers-new and established- to re-imagine and innovate using a solid conceptual framework Presents difficult concepts that are clearly and analytically presented with accompanying illustrations Looks forward to the use of reinforced concrete in the complex structures of the future

Made in Yugoslavia: Studies in Popular Music serves as a comprehensive and thorough introduction to the history, sociology, and musicology of popular music in Yugoslavia and the post-Yugoslav region across the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The book consists of chapters by leading scholars and covers the major figures, styles, and social contexts of music in the region that for most of the past century was known as Yugoslavia. Exploring the role played by music in Yugoslav art, culture, social movements, and discourses of statehood, this book offers a gateway into scholarly explanation of a key region in Eastern Europe. An introduction provides an overview and background on popular music in Yugoslavia, followed by chapters in four thematic sections: Zabavna-Pop; Rock, Punk, and New Wave; Narodna (Folk) and Neofolk Music; and the Politics of Popular Music Under Socialism.

Download Advances in Plasticity 1989 Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Plasticity is now an established area of study within materials science and engineering mechanics. The proceedings of the Second International Symposium on Plasticity and its Current Applications brings together papers on all current areas of research into the plastic behaviour of solids. The main emphasis is on dynamic plasticity and study of deformation at crystal level but there are also papers on plasticity in particular materials such as superalloys and metal-matrix composites, the mechanics of damage, and the applications of plastic theory in metal-forming processes.

This Selected Issues paper reviews public expenditure in Lithuania with a view to identify areas for which deeper reforms may be warranted to improve spending efficiency and contain future spending pressures. The paper benchmarks spending levels and spending composition in Lithuania against those in other European countries. The 31 European countries covered in the benchmarking exercise include the EU-28 plus Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland. Reflecting the tendency for public spending to increase with income, Lithuania’s spending as a share of GDP is compared with the European Union average spending controlling for GDP per capita. The paper also tries to assess spending relative to outcomes to get a sense of spending efficiency.

Download The Law of Debtors and Creditors Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
One of the leading casebooks in the field, The Law of Debtors and Creditors features 39 problem sets with realistic questions a lawyer considers in managing a bankruptcy case. It also challenges the students with the major policy and theoretical questions in the field. The text features a functional organization as a bankruptcy case would unfold. The focus is on teaching through the realistic problems, complete with ethical difficulties embedded into the fact patterns. The presentation is lively and colloquial. Explanatory text throughout makes bankruptcy law accessible to students and easier to teach. Because it divides the subject between consumer and business bankruptcy, professors can select the depth of coverage for each subject in designing a two-, three-, or four-credit class. The authors—Senator Elizabeth Warren, Congresswoman Katie Porter, and Professors Pottow (Michigan) and Westbrook (Texas)—are among the most prominent in the field. Uniquely comprehensive Teacher’s Manual—chock full of material on how to design class around the problem sets, citations to new cases and literature, and suggestions for steering class discussion. New to the Eighth Edition: The emergence of a whole new form of chapter 11 bankruptcy, the Small Business Reorganization Act in subchapter V, just as the Covid19 crisis exploded The impact of recent Supreme Court decisions, including Jevic, Merit Management, Midland Funding, and Wellness New cases and issues since the Seventh Edition Updated materials on § 363 sales Incorporation of discussion of ABI Commission on Consumer Bankruptcy Reform A number of interesting new problems Professors and students will benefit from: Separation of consumer bankruptcy from business bankruptcy—professors can select the depth of coverage for each subject Lively explanatory text—makes bankruptcy law accessible to students and easier to teach Engagement of current events and economic trends Discussion of many recent cases 39 problem sets—featuring the realistic questions a lawyer considers in applying the statutory provisions in a bankruptcy case Substantial discussion of the ethical questions that arise in bankruptcy practice, and including ethical issues in the problems students must solve Functional organization—as a bankruptcy case would unfold rather than using some artificial paradigm Chapters specifically devoted to bankruptcy theory (consumer and business), to international insolvencies, and to important ethics issue in the consumer and business contexts Problem sets designed to combine doctrinal, transactional, and theoretical issues
