Darian, a father of two young girls, has a great life. His Career is going well, he has a close friend, and he has the perfect marriage...almost. In many ways, his life would be ideal if it weren't for a tragic accident back in high school that left his wife deeply emotionally scarred. Tormented by this accident, Darian cannot understand why his loving Faith wants to be involved in their ten-year high school reunion, and old, painful memories are uncovered. He wishes more than anything that he could go back in time to change what happened to her so that they can be truly happy. Darian gets this opportunity when a chance encounter with a mysterious man sends him careering back into his 17-year-old body, on his first day of his senior year. On his journey, Darian has to make Faith fall in love with him all over again to keep her from Ross Trent, the school gangster who was the cause of the accident at their high school prom. The only problem is that Ross and his gang won't let him get anywhere near Faith, and Faith doesn't remember who he is. In this modern love story, Darian learns valuable lessons about love, time and the power of keeping the past in the past. Read this book, and begin your own journey back to high school.

I actually wrote my book between 1986 and 1988 in Aiken, South Carolina, while my late husband was battling leukemia. Ive always wanted to write, so one day I just sat down and started jotting down notes. To my surprise, the words began to flow. I used bits and pieces of my real-life experiences, but for the most part, the book is fiction. The people are actually real people with fictitious names. The places are somewhat real. I have written short stories for the most part until this book became my first real writing experience. I did not complete the book until August of 1988 after the passing of my husband, but it just lay on my desk unpublished until I heard about Xlibris.

In this material world, there is no comparison to a mother’s love, for a mother loves her child without any expectation of return. When you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love available in the material realm. This is love at first sight, from the moment you open your eyes. Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving mother is the best one. A mother’s love is a treasure, lying deep in the core of our hearts and we know It will always be there to comfort us. Someone has rightly said, “A mother’s love begins before the child is born and lasts through time and difficulties and differences and many wounds and days of joy and days of sorrow, winding, wearing weeping, sharing, changing until, at the end what remains is that solid core that began as love before the child was born.

There is massive public interest in same-sex marriage, a controversial topic that is rarely out of the media. This book investigates the extent to which legalizing same-sex marriage can contribute to ending the discrimination and social stigma faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender men and women (LGBT) in the Western world. This issue breaks down into several further questions: can marriage equality be defended without reinforcing the idea that marriage is the most/only valuable form of intimate relationship? Can marriage equality be defended without further marginalizing non-conforming LGBT people? What kind of equality should LGBT people strive for? What critical agency might they lose when this equality is achieved? What institutional legacies should we embrace? The book focuses on human rights arguments supporting same-sex marriage and questions whether they are likely to both justify legal change and encourage shifts in the sociopolitical reception of LGBT people. After critically analyzing various arguments in favor of same-sex marriage, the author puts forward a justification that allows for marriage equality and does not result in the assimilation of queer identities into heteronormative identity.

It is often said that that one never completely recovers from the loss of a loved one and the shock of bereavement leaves an indelible scar on one's soul that remains forever. Despite this, most bereaved people do return to living productive and meaningful lives, understanding that such pain is unavoidable and part of the human experience. However, in some cases the negative feelings and emotions do not subside over time and what psychologists refer to as "complicated grief" takes hold. This is a serious and debilitating condition that can take a toll on emotional and physical well-being. The good news is that, with appropriate help and support, even sufferers of complicated grief can transform their lives. This workbook is an essential part of the method known as "Love Knows No Death," an innovative approach to grief transformation. This counseling approach, which integrates both written and video lessons, reflects an "unbelievable truth" that the human mind, consciousness and personality do not end with the death of the physical body. In other words, your deceased love one is not, in fact, deceased. As one progresses through the workbook it becomes apparent that there is no religious agenda. The reality that we survive death is based upon established evidence and not blind faith, and the reader is encouraged to do their own reading, learning and thinking. The entire approach is based upon education and not preaching. This innovative approach to grief transformation is based upon established techniques of cognitive therapy. In other words, "The way you feel depends entirely on the way you think." When we learn to think "non-negatively" and replace negative, unrealistic and distorted thoughts with more balanced, neutral and realistic ones, dramatic results can be attained. The chapters and videos in this approach will take readers on a journey of exploration as they examine possible stumbling blocks, what really dies at death, and learn about the substantial evidence for life after life. Some of the phenomena examined include the powers of the mind, deathbed visions, near death experiences, apparitions, mediumship and instrumental trans-communication. Mental health professionals are coming to realize that patients who believe that their deceased loved ones still survive do better than those who do not believe in survival. The "Love Knows No Death" approach recognizes that vague hope or wishful thinking does not have the power to transform grief. Such transformation can only come from "knowing," which can be attained only through personal experiences, thorough examination of the evidence, and changing the way we think. Those who put the effort into diligently following this workbook may very well experience life changing effects. The "afterlife perspective," once integrated into the grieving process, will allow you to lead a better life and truly honor those who have passed before you.
