The nativity story is a wonderful Christmas story that has been told from generation to generation. We all love to see children enjoying this enjoyable representation of the birth of Jesus, with smiles and laughter often being part of the play. It is the highlight of the year, for some... The idea of writing the nativity story through e-mails, poetry and acronyms is an attempt to make it fun in a similar ad hoc way, and as a modern audience, we see things from the perspective of the digital age. Although so many people have seen the 3WYM (Three Wise Men) attend the birth of Jesus in nativity plays, it is believed that they actually followed the star about a year and a half after the birth of Jesus, and this led them to Mary and Joseph's son. Also, it is known that three gifts were brought, yet there is no mention of there being 'three' wise men, and the number is simply something that has been passed on from one generation to the next over the years, through oral tradition initially. Therefore, the nativity story, which brings with it joy and wonder, is being retold in this book - I hope that the characters come to life for you, as much as they did for me when I wrote it. Anything in written form is never going to be as delightful as the wonderful sight of children performing the nativity play, but I hope that this book offers at least another perspective on the world famous nativity story!

How many times have you heard the Nativity Story? How much do you know about those who experienced the story firsthand? For many of us, we have heard the story so often that it has lost its amazement. This is because we tend to read it from our modern perspective. In doing so, we lose sight that these events happened to real people at a real point in history. When we hear the story from their perspective, it takes on a whole new meaning. Come, and walk with those who experienced, personally, the Nativity Story. See how the culture of first century Judaism affected people's attitudes regarding Mary and her pregnancy. Gain a greater appreciation of how God blessed and challenged Joseph and Mary. Walk in Mary's shoes as she enters Bethlehem finding nowhere to give birth. See how the Nativity Story fits into God's grander Redemption Story as it points us to look forward to Jesus' return.

“Do not be afraid” was the message brought by angels to four people, while telling them life-altering news. Anxiety would be any humans response to protecting themselves from hopes being dashed again, a dramatic change of plans, dreams being crushed or feeling exposed—no longer able to hide the truth. The lives of Zacharias, Mary, Joseph and the Shepherds from 2000 years ago will show you that even though the packages of life may appear barren, God is indeed a gracious giver, that He comes to save lives, not destroy them—for he is a Savior and a dream re-maker. You are one of His favorites, and He can come into the darkest of lives, flooding them with brilliant beauty and grace. The messages are rock solid even for you today, ready to hold you steady, going forward with hope, joy, love and peace when you, too, fear what next might happen. Daily worship songs and activities will lead you to live loved as you are beloved, and the study questions are perfect for individual use, groups, or family devotions. You will find a page to journal on each day as well as full color photos to accompany the activities, a few recipes, and gift ideas that will help you make joyful traditions in your own family for generations to come.
