This guide addresses the selection and use of axle loading defaults for Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) applications. The defaults were developed based on weigh-in-motion (WIM) data from the Long- Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) Special Pavement Study (SPS) Transportation Pooled Fund Study (TPF). The guide consists of two parts. The first part provides guidelines for selecting and using LTPP SPS TPF axle loading defaults with the MEPDG and DARWin-ME software. These defaults provide a source of axle loading information for pavement analysis for locations where site-specific axle load spectra are not available. The second part of the guide provides practical guidelines that States and LTPP can use to generate additional MEPDG traffic loading defaults based on their own WIM data or for specific analysis purposes. In addition, this guide contains an operator's manual that supports the use of the LTPP PLUG software. This software helps users select site-specific or default axle loading conditions from its traffic loading library and produces axle load distribution input files for use with the MEPDG or DARWin-ME software. The software can be used to store, view, and group multiple normalized axle load spectra (NALS) and to develop MEPDG inputs and defaults using agency-provided data.

This is the user's guide for the Long Term Pavement Performance traffic quality control (QC) software designed to load, process, and produce reports on monitored traffic data submitted to the LTPP program. It is divided functionally based on the flow of data through the system to ultimately produce a data review report and data for loading into the analysis software. Eight program functions (buttons) are available from the main control panel for use by the program operator as data are loaded, processed, and analyzed for reports. The software uses an ORACLE database to store summaries of data and writes processed data to text files for use in the LTPP traffic analysis software. This version is outdated. The most current version can be obtained from LTPP Customer Support Service Center.

This document provides information to aid in understanding and using the Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) program's Pavement Performance Database (PPDB), LTPP Traffic Analysis Software (LTAS) database, and contents of the Ancillary Information Management System (AIMS) and LTPP InfoPaveTM. This report describes the structure of the LTPP program, the relational structure of the LTPP PPDB, the location of various data elements, contents of data tables, tips on efficient means of manipulating data for specific types of investigations, and information on how to obtain data. This is the final updated version of this report. The LTPP InfoPave website is now the official public data dissemination mechanism for LTPP data. Over the years of updates to this report, contributing authors included Travis Thompson, Amy Simpson, Beth Visintine, and Peter Schmalzer.

The Long-Term Pavement Performance Information Management System (LTPP IMS) Data Users Reference Manual contains an overview of the LTPP program and the data available to researchers. LTPP is a 20-year study of pavements to improve design, rehabilitation, and maintenance practices. This document is intended to assist researchers in understanding the data that are currently available for General Pavement Studies Experiments and how to obtain it. The General Pavement Studies are a group of asphalt concrete (AC) and portland cement concrete (PCC) experiments using in-service pavements. In addition to materials test results for the pavement sections, data on pavement history, maintenance, and rehabilitation are stored in the IMS. Information on distress, transverse profile, cross profile, pavement deflection, and traffic is collected on a routine basis and added to the data base regularly. The manual includes information on the quality control process.

This report presents the user guide for the Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) Climate Tool. The climate data in the LTPP Climate Tool have been extracted from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis for Research and Applications (MERRA) database. The LTPP Climate Tool was developed to provide convenient dissemination of climate data derived from the MERRA database for infrastructure engineering applications in customary engineering units. This report includes instructions for the use of the LTPP Climate Tool. The Tool includes both a map and a data module that allow the user to download MERRA elements for temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind, and solar at hourly, daily, monthly, and annual time increments all over the world.
