Excerpt from Journal of the Proceedings of the Bishops, Clergy, and Laity of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America: Assembled in a General Convention, Held in the City of Boston, From Oct. 3d to Oct. 25th, Inclusive, in the Year of Our Lord 1877 The Secretary shall keep full minutes 0 the proceedings of the House; tran acribe them, with all re rts, into a book provided for that purpose; preserve the Journal and Records 0 the House; deliver them to his successor; and erform such other duties as may be directed or assigned to him by the House. E may, with the approbation of the House, appoint three Assistant Secretaries, and the Secretary and Assistant Secretaries s all continue in office until the organization of the next Convention, and until their successors be chosen. If, during the recess of the General Convention, a vacancy should occur in the office of Secre tary, the duties thereof shall devolve upon the Assistant Secretaries, or if the Assistant Secretaries shall die or resign, a Secretary shall be a pointed by the Standing Committee of the Diocese in which the next General C'onvention is to meet.
