The information contained herein is designed to summarize the long standing problem regarding the Wears Creek flood and blight situation in Jefferson City, Missouri, and to report on efforts to eliminate this problem that affects its Capital and therefore the entire area. Studies directed at understanding the nature and extent of this problem date back to 1933 when the Corps of Engineers made its first analysis. However, not until 1968 did it appear that a feasible solution was possible.
