It is widely agreed that, over the past decade, accelerating infrastructure investments in India's North Eastern Region (NER) and neighboring countries, along with connectivity agreements with Bangladesh, hold immense promise for unlocking NER's economic potential. Other global trends, such as the growing incomes and consumer awareness in India and neighboring countries; a rising preference for fresh, healthy, safe, environmentally friendly, and socially responsible products; the growing role of services in manufacturing; and increasing demand for skilled resources are also very favorable for NER. Together, these developments can help NER showcase its strengths in agriculture and services, thereby developing value chains in these sectors, which will lead to sustainable, better-paying job opportunities for the people of NER. In this context, the World Bank, in consultation with stakeholders--government, private sector, and academia--analyzed two cross-cutting constraints that are encountered across all value chains and sectors in NER: connectivity and logistics, and product standards and quality infrastructure. To ground the policy in specific contexts, the team studied four sectors in depth: fruits and vegetables, spices, bamboo and related products, and medical tourism. Playing to Strengths lays out an initial policy framework for NER that integrates demand and supply and shows that, even with a low base in manufacturing, NER can leverage its strengths in agriculture and services to step up its growth. However, implementing this framework will require a different approach to doing business compared with the existing ecosystem and its associated value chains, which are mostly geared to local and/or price-conscious consumers. In capitalizing on its advantages, NER will not only accelerate its own development, but also will play an increasingly critical role in the government of India's "Act East" policy.

Data storage, processing, and management at remote location over dynamic networks is the most challenging task in cloud networks. Users’ expectations are very high for data accuracy, reliability, accessibility, and availability in pervasive cloud environment. It was the core motivation for the Cloud Networks Internet of Things (CNIoT). The exponential growth of the networks and data management in CNIoT must be implemented in fast growing service sectors such as logistic and enterprise management. The network based IoT works as a bridge to fill the gap between IT and cloud networks, where data is easily accessible and available. This book provides a framework for the next generation of cloud networks, which is the emerging part of 5G partnership projects. This contributed book has following salient features, A cloud-based next generation networking technologies. Cloud-based IoT and mobility management technology. The proposed book is a reference for research scholars and course supplement for cloud-IoT related subjects such as distributed networks in computer/ electrical engineering. Sanjay Kumar Biswash is working as an Assistant professor in NIIT University, India. He held Research Scientist position, Institute of Cybernetics, National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia. He was PDF at LNCC, Brazil and SDSU, USA. He was a visiting researcher to the UC, Portugal. Sourav Kanti Addya is working as an Assistant professor in NITK, Surathkal, India. He was a PDF at IIT Kharagpur, India. He was a visiting scholar at SDSU, USA. He obtained national level GATE scholarship. He is a member of IEEE, ACM.

Twenty years ago, India launched its “Look East” policy. For most of those 20 years, Myanmar’s isolation, mistrust between India and its neighbors, and poor infrastructure connectivity hindered the development of links between South and Southeast Asia. With Myanmar’s tentative opening and improved relations between India and Bangladesh, an opportunity exists for India to boost trade and security ties with mainland and maritime Southeast Asia. And the United States, during President Barack Obama’s second term, is committed to rebalancing toward Asia, with India playing a pivotal role. With these facts in mind, CSIS presents key recommendations in the areas of diplomacy and security, infrastructure and energy, and enhancing people-to-people collaboration among India, ASEAN, and the United States.

In a globalized world, one of the most prominent developments in technology has been the advancement of non-human entities. The applications of these entities in media as well as other fields of science have been looked upon as irrelevant for understanding human agency. Analytical Frameworks, Applications, and Impacts of ICT and Actor-Network Theory provides innovative insights into human and non-human roles (e.g., physical objects, technology, animals, or even beliefs, scientific facts, or discourses) and their influence on this theory and to each other. The content within this publication represents the work of consumer culture, technology, and the arts. It is designed for researchers, students, and professionals as it covers topics centered on a multidisciplinary reading of actor-network theory for a variety of fields.
