The dog is standing athwart the View, facing the left, his head up and tongue lolling lightly. The grayish white and yellowish-brown coat is strongly marked, and the long, bushy tail hangs in a deep loop-curve. The sunshine throws a bit of a shadow on the light green short grass at his feet, and a few detached trees appear in the distance before more distant low hills.
