Crossing the North Atlantic Ocean in a small sailboat is no longer a news-grabbing event. Recent advances in navigation and communication equipment, unavailable a few short years ago, have greatly improved sailors chances of survival and success. Nevertheless, the waters of the North Atlantic Ocean still present many different moods and difficultoften extremechallenges. In 1996 three Lake Ontario sailors from TorontoHenk Borsboom, Peter Becker and the author, Dick Grannandecided to accept the challenges of the North Atlantic Ocean on RABASKA (big canoe), a thirty-seven foot Alberg sailboat. The adventure had a huge impact on their lives, and their memories tell fascinating stories of what they experienced on that trip. Many sailors who write about cruising have a chapter about The Storm. Crossing the North Atlantic Ocean in 1996 was not about just one major storm, but a series of them that nearly defeated their spirit and courage. The sailors faced relentless challenges when they crossed the worlds second-largest ocean in a small sailboat. Grannan tells how they worked together as a team, and how the trip enabled them to rearrange their priorities and to get more in touch with their everyday lives.

Download Captain America Masterworks Vol. 5 Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Collects Captain America (1968) #125-136. It's a twelve-pack of Captain America classics as only the Marvel Masterworks can bring them to you! Draped in the red, white and blue, there's no character in all of comics who represents America like Cap, and within these pages two of Marvel's greatest creators set him on a path through the tumultuous '70s that bears a character's, and a nation's, soul. In story after story Stan Lee and Gene Colan push the envelope for adventure as Cap goes behind enemy lines in Vietnam; teams with the Falcon to oppose the radical Diamondheads; and then sets out on a coast-to-coast road trip full of motorcycle gangs, rock festivals and the Red Skull! The excitement reaches fever pitch when the long, lost Bucky Barnes returns! Free from the guilt of his partner's death, Cap's slate is wiped clean, however, anything but a normal life is ahead-because Baron Strucker, Dr. Doom and M.O.D.O.K. are tied up in Bucky's return. Before the story's done you'll witness Cap vs. Bucky, the origin of M.O.D.O.K. and the beginning of the Captain America/Falcon team! Featuring guest appearances by Nick Fury, the Incredible Hulk and Peter Parker, and villains from Batroc to the Mole Man and the Monster Ape, they're classics one and all.

Download Redwood Ritual Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
This has been a very trying project to complete. Redwood Ritual is the objective observation of the world as it is today as it presently presents itself. Though this required far less time than Soul Split Son, Redwood Ritual is quite comprehensive. I've explored various writing styles to express the messages I sought to convey. Some were created in an abstract form, where my thoughts took the lead with no regard to organization. Others explored political events and the cultural metamorphosis which is ever evolving. And then there are entries which directly attack certain facets of life, which we as individuals deem to be imperative to our own ways of life. No one person or group was targeted, but the point and purpose of Redwood Ritual was to illustrate the direction we as a society are headed towards in contrast to the lifestyle and values my generation was raised to embody. It has been said that change and progress are a good thing, however; what happens when we repeat history and trends? There can be no growth, but we will stand mired and lost as a world culture fixated on what has become socially and financially acceptable. We treat the phrase "politically correct" as the benchmark for conversation and education. People have become intimated, shying away from being honest and transparent about their thoughts and emotions. And it is my hope that Redwood Ritual proves itself to be a segway for open communication and unbiased transparent observations.
