After starting the MLV N.T we were asked multiple times to create an O.T. After seeking advice from multiple Hebrew Scholars, we decided on the "A Conservative Version" done Dr. Walter L Porter, ThD. The ACV was already a great revision of the "American Standard Version 1901." Dr. Porter's goals were to remove archaic wording and put it into better English form (subject, verb, object). We cannot hope to achieve the accuracy of the Old Testament like we did in the "Modern Literal Version New Testament". Hebrew is just not as precise as Koine Greek but so far to date we have corrected about 42,000 places.

This Modern Literal Version New Testament edition is: Sky Blue with black lettering covers, BOLD Letter, 2017 update, 2-18-2018, black and white with the words of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in BOLD print, standard 12 point font size and about 45 blank pages for notes. The MLV is not sold for profit; electronic versions are free. Unlike ALL other translations in print, all Christian groups have had the opportunity to propose fixes for the MLV or to assist in some way, Open Source to remove all religious biases, traditions or doctrines of men. The Modern Literal Version uses the Majority Text (The New Testament in the Original Greek, Byzantine Textform 2005/2010, Compiled and Arranged by Maurice A. Robinson and William Pierpont ISBN: 978-1540415585 & 978-1540792457). Only three primary methods exist to translate a foreign language. The first is to translate each word in a literal word for word fashion, keeping the original word order. (ISBN: 978-1973921967). When combined with the Greek text, they are called interlinears. The Modern Literal Version is the second type: ''Literal'' or ''word-for-word'' translation. This sounds like the first, but is not the same and the two are often confused. In a literal version each word and phrase is uniformly rendered, Greek idioms are carefully translated uniformly. The Greek parts of speech are rearranged as they would be in typical English order of: Subject, verb, object, indirect object, and punctuation are added. Greek is extremely choppy and supplied words are needed to have an ''English like flow'' to them rather than paraphrasing. Supplied words are identified in the MLV. The third translation method, and the most common one in the past 30 years, is to paraphrase the Greek into English. These are easy to spot because they read like a newspaper and have no supplied words marked. They are known by various names, such as dynamic equivalence, essentially literal, free style, thought-for-thought, better than a word-for-word, and so on. 95% of all Bible translations are this type. The value of paraphrased versions is for those looking for a Bible that reads like a story book and would never be used as a study tool. However, we feel strongly that thought-for-thought introduces too many editorial opinions. We want what God said, not an interpretation of it. They are sometimes better described as ''opinion for opinion'' because each time they are proofread more personal beliefs are exchanged for the Word of God. One way to look at it is like this: If there was a court case with a key document as evidence, and this document was in a foreign language, would a ''thought-for-thought'' translation be acceptable? The document we are talking about here is the ''Last Will and Testament'' of our Lord Jesus. The third type translations are watered down and those places that are disputed by the various religious groups will always match the beliefs of their translators, publishing company or the church behind the translation! This is the BOLD Letter Edition of "The Modern Literal Version," (2015 Beta, black & white, with words of the Trinity in BOLD print narrow margin and standard size 12 point font). The "MLV" is a 'word for word' literal translation in readable modern-English of the Original Greek New Testament according to the compiled 2005 Majority Text. It does not use paraphrasing, dynamic equivalence, free style, or any other fancy wording to describe paraphrasing or any other translation principles which make the opinions of the translator your 'Word of God.' The goal of everyone who worked on this project over the pass 26 years was to keep any form of commentary out of this translation as is humanly possible. There is no denomination and no publishing company behind the "Modern Literal Version." The "MLV" is not sold for profit. The translation, unlike all others, has been open for all to see for over 15 years on the Internet, with anyone having the ability to submit 'a fix' and this is the current result. The project continues to stay open for any future recommendations or fixes, the email address is enclosed. The "Modern Literal Version" may not be ERROR free but everyone is trying to make it that way.One of the best ways to describe the "Modern Literal Version" New Testament translation is that it is the first to adopt many significant translation principles:1. It was the first translation to use the power of modern computers. All the way back in 1987.2. The first translation that has no contradictions. This is why the MLV was started in the first place because of the Mt 5:17 vs. Eph 2:15 one found in most modern translations.3. The MLV was the first to attempt to keep Greek uniformity. (Same Greek word translation into the same English word(s) whenever possible.)4. The MLV was the first and only to attempt to keep English uniformity. In other words keeping one specific English word to represent only one specific Greek word or one of its meanings. (The worst example probably is the word WILL which has 69 different Greek words in the KJV.)5. The MLV was the first bible translation to be open on the internet for anyone to submit corrections, updates or help, since 1998 and the only published translation to stay open with yearly and web updates.6. The MLV is the first to be done by a group of people not divided among committees. Which by nature one committee will not translate the exact same way as another would. If there is a correction or a specific idiom or such it is dealt with uniformly.7. The MLV is the first and only translation to ever deal with the word "for", by translating all the "for" conjunctions as "because." You can read more about this in the Appendix. Other uncommon translation principles that set us apart:A. You* (plural) vs. You (singular). A lot of teachings are lost due to having no way to distinguish when a crowd of people or an individual were being addressed. B. No Denominationalism (no particular doctrine given emphasis or watered down).C. Twelve to thirteen year old reading level. D. All wording is modern-English where possible, all words can be looked up on dictionary.com or in a dictionary book.E. You have the ability to read the New Testament in chronological order; start in Mark and continue. F. The MLV translates the transliterated words which still plague translations by being repeated over and over because of tradition, for example "Satan" is now "Adversary" and "angel" is now "messenger" (a serious issue because people didn't know 'messenger' and 'angel' are the same word), etc.To God is the glory, power, and dominion forever and ever. Amen

This is the BOLD Letter Edition of "The Modern Literal Version," (2016 Beta N.T. Update, 12-05-15, black & white, with words of the God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit in BOLD print, narrow margin and standard size 12 point font). Quick Overview: The "Modern Literal Version" uses the Majority Text ("The New Testament in the Original Greek Byzantine Textform 2005 Compiled and Arranged by Maurice A. Robinson and William Pierpont"). Two distinct and opposite techniques are used in translating the New Testament from the Greek. The "Modern Literal Version" is the first type, a 'literal' translation sometimes called 'word-for-word' translation. The second and most common in the past 30 years is to paraphrase the Greek into English. These are: dynamic equivalence, free style, thought-for-thought, better than a word-for-word and so on. We understand the value of paraphrases for those looking for a Bible that reads as easily as a newspaper, however we feel strongly about having a Bible without opinions of what was meant but instead faithfully reproduces the original Greek Bible into Modern English. One way to look at this is: if there was a court case with a particular document that was being used as evidence and this document was in a foreign language would a "thought-for-thought" translation be acceptable? The 'document' we are talking about here is the 'Last Will and Testament' of our Lord Jesus & Savior. The goal of everyone who worked on the "Modern Literal Version" was to keep any form of commentary or paraphrase out of this translation as is humanly possible. The MLV is not sold for profit because there is no denomination or publishing company or foundation behind it. All Christian groups have had the opportunity to submit fixes or help. The only uninspired traditions kept in the MLV are: punctuation and capitalization; chapter and verse numbers; and book order. The Open Translation Bible: The Modern Literal Version Bible is considered 'finished, ' although it has been open for revision by anyone since 1998. Our utmost desire is to have a translation that has no errors and we believe that the best way to produce an error-free translation is to keep it open to the public in the same manner as 'open-source software' is to programmers. We have found no better way than our 'open translation' idea in its 15 years to achieve this goal. Absolutely anyone in the world is able to contribute, for sure, the few million who have visited the Christian Library have had that opportunity. To God is the glory, power, and dominion forever and ever. Amen

The Modern Young's Literal Translation of the Bible is a modernization of the Young's Literal Translation. The text of the 1898 edition was used for this. The only changes made were to sentence structure and archaic language. The original meanings are still intact. All effort has been made to preserve the original meaning and flow of Young's Literal Translation. The Modern Young's Literal Translation is easier to read and understand with today's English. This is an excellent Bible translation because it retains the original literal translating and and meanings, but is easier to read. This title here is the New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs.

This is the translation that appears in the margins of Jay P. Green, Sr.'s best-seller, The Interlinear Hebrew-Greek-English Bible. This is the third edition of this most accurate of all versions. Due t o additional intense study, and the suggestions of others, we feel confident that this version has now been perfected.
