The work now seemed easy, especially as my great grand parents and my family, down to myself had been connected with this church until 1871. The writer's earliest recollection was in attend ing the services of this church when the Rev. Charles W. Cooper preached, and when the church was heated bv stoves, burning wood. The preacher in my estimation at that time was the most learned per son in the Village, and naturally the best person.
