Excerpt from An Historical and Genealogical Account of Andrew Robeson, of Scotland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and of His Descendants, From 1653 to 1916 We have endeavored to give whatever of interest was possible in connection with the families of each branch, feeling that this was, in a measure, a message from one family to another, Who, though closely connected by family ties, may not have heard from one another for many years, and believe that each Will be interested to know of the present surroundings and learn of the past history of their kinsmen. Personal sketches have seemed the most unsatisfactory portion of this work; while it has been possible to portray the nature and character of the services rendered by many, in the work of the world, there are others, among the descendants, Whose lives have been equally worthy of consideration but of whose personal history the writer has not been informed, though it may have commanded the honor and approval of all in their vicinity; little has been said in some instances, because further information could not be procured, in other cases a fuller sketch was possible, as the sources of information were easy of access, and well known to the writer. Sketches given are all from authentic sources. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
