This addition to the field of New Testament Greek study aids is the most useful analytical lexicon available. The Analytical Lexicon of the Greek New Testament contains an alphabetical arrangement of every Greek form found in the major printed editions of the Greek New Testament: UBS, Nestle-Aland, and the Majority Text. Consequently, ANLEX is not a lexicon of a single edition of the New Testament; rather it is a lexicon of the New Testament's language in all its manuscript forms. A distinguishing feature of this and companion volumes is the use of grammatical tags. The analysis is "tagged" throughout with abbreviations that provide pertinent grammatical information. ANLEX's analysis is superior to traditional parsing because of the authors' expertise in modern linguistics. In addition, ANLEX provides new and original definitions in modern, descriptive English for each root word.

The believer's life is often compared in the Bible to the construction of a building. The foundation of a building is the most important part, as the size, weight and height of a building will depend on the depth, width and materials of the foundation. Once a foundation is set, then a dwelling can be erected and inhabited. These 'Six Foundational Truths' of Hebrews Chapter Six: repentance, faith, baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment; are the primary and vital spiritual foundations that must be laid solidly in a believers life. The cause for every problem in the Christians life both for young and old believers goes right back to these foundational truths. This book contains a vital call to “Go on to Perfection.”Psalm 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

The relationship between divine sovereignty and the human will is a topic of perennial theological dispute and one that is gaining increased attention among contemporary evangelicals. In Still Sovereign, thirteen scholars write to defend the classical view of God's sovereignty. According to the editors, "Ours is a culture in which the tendency is to exalt what is human and diminish what is divine. Even in evangelical circles, we find increasingly attractive a view of God in which God is one of us, as it were, a partner in the unfolding drama of life. . . . In contrast, the vision of God affirmed in these pages is of one who reigns supreme over all, whose purposes are accomplished without fail, and who directs the course of human affairs, including the central drama of saving a people for the honor of his name, all with perfect holiness and matchless grace." The fourteen chapters of Still Sovereign (originally part of the two-volume, The Grace of God, the Bondage of the Will) are divided into three parts. Part 1 offers fresh exegesis of the biblical texts that bear most directly on the doctrines of election, foreknowledge, and perseverance of the saints. Part 2 explores theological and philosophical issues related to effectual calling, prevenient grace, assurance of salvation, and the nature of God's love. The final section applies the doctrines of election and divine sovereignty to Christian living, prayers, evangelism, and preaching.

Find Reality in Jesus Christ God's people in the Old Testament experienced only shadows of the truth about sin and salvation; their perception was dim and incomplete. But Jesus, with his once-for-all perfect sacrifice, brings the blurred shadows into focus and allows us crystal-clear understanding of God's reality. In showing us the way to please God, the writer to the Hebrews contrasts Old Testament sacrifices with the abundant, life-changing grace available in Jesus Christ. 13 sessions for individuals or groups Fisherman Bible Studyguides include: . Every believer needs to establish a sound spiritual FOUNDATION because it sets the groundwork for their entire walk with the LORD. Just as a good foundation is required for a sound building, so a proper spiritual foundation is vital for a victorious Christian life. Those who fail to lay a proper foundation are doomed to spiritual immaturity because they have nothing by which to judge what is right or wrong, scriptural or unscriptural, wise or foolish. Simply put, a healthy biblical understructure eliminates feeble spirituality.Believers who neglect to form a wise foundation can shipwreck their faith altogether, as Paul put it in 1 Timothy 1:19, and find themselves back in the world-in spiritual darkness and separate from God. That's why this book exists. It'll help believers lay a quality understructure so that their faith isn't shipwrecked at some point down the road. The Bible details the six basic doctrines of Christianity in Hebrews 6:1-2 where they are described as "elementary." This means "the initial (starting) point" in the Greek. In other words, these six doctrines come first and are therefore the chief teachings of Christianity. They're "basic" only in the sense that they're foundational and consequently have priority over other doctrines. They are the SIX CHIEF DOCTRINES of Christianity.

Did Jesus claim to be the "bridegroom"? If so, what did he mean by this claim? When Jesus says that the wedding guests should not fast "while the bridegroom is with them" (Mark 2:19), he is claiming to be a bridegroom by intentionally alluding to a rich tradition from the Hebrew Bible. By eating and drinking with "tax collectors and other sinners," Jesus was inviting people to join him in celebrating the eschatological banquet. While there is no single text in the Hebrew Bible or the literature of the Second Temple Period which states the "messiah is like a bridegroom," the elements for such a claim are present in several texts in Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Hosea. By claiming that his ministry was an ongoing wedding celebration he signaled the end of the Exile and the restoration of Israel to her position as the Lord's beloved wife. This book argues that Jesus combined the tradition of an eschatological banquet with a marriage metaphor in order to describe the end of the Exile as a wedding banquet.
