My family emigrated to the U.S. from Uganda over ten years ago. Due to civil unrest in Uganda and the surrounding countries, families were forced to flee for safety resulting in family separations and internal displacements. The most prevalent tragedy is the brokenness in families that trickled down to each individual on different generational levels. Growing up without a father left a dent in my heart that I was unaware of. This created resentment in me. Years later, I was assaulted adding "salt to injury". I struggled with low self-esteem, abandonment, and rejection in my early years and it continued on into my adulthood; though it never really showed. I had to find an outlet. I have always enjoyed reading and journaling. Reflecting on my readings of the Bible gave me answers that I was unable to find in the world. Depending on what I was facing, I would find a verse and study it as it spoke to the situation I was facing. Most of the time, a poem would flow as my answer. This collection is my testimony of God's goodness and mercy which has always protected me. I am grateful that I am able to share my heart's Healing Song's with you all. I hope and pray that you too, are able to find your Healing Songs in the midst of all your turmoil.

A woman recounts the horror of waking up paralyzed, unable to call for help. A man has a mini-stroke and refuses to listen to his doctor, only to suffer a disabling stroke soon after. A physician recalls watching a tiny baby in the throws of a stroke, convulsing violently. A survivor rejoices after finally crossing the street before the pedestrian lights change back. Blending such highly personal and moving stories with crystal clear medical commentary based on first-hand clinical experience, Dr. Olajide Williams demystifies this potentially devastating illness and provides a roadmap to recovery. Indeed, Dr. Williams shows that the majority of strokes are not only preventable, but also treatable. Through compelling stories of patients, survivors and caregivers, woven together by easy-to-understand medical explanations, Dr. Williams provides practical tips on preventing strokes with specific lifestyle prescriptions, on recognizing the different forms of strokes, on managing symptoms after stroke, and on overcoming the psychological burden of stroke. He also reviews the new clot-busting treatments, which have dramatically improved the recovery rate of stroke victims. Combining cutting-edge medicine with the gripping stories of patients, survivors, family members, and physicians, Stroke Diaries strikes a blow against the current public health crisis in stroke.

Have you ever listened to a favorite gospel song and suddenly, during the midst of praise and worship, God began to speak like never before? As music blasted through the speakers and tears streamed down upon the fullness of your face, in expectation, your soul opened up to receive a powerful word from above. Through song, God speaks deliverance, encouragement, healing and salvation. In Songs of My Heart & Tales from My Soul, you are invited to participate in a private, sentimental walk between the author and God. While the readings are intended to be light and airy, the author hopes that this 30 day devotional will bring hope for the future, comfort through uncertain times, freedom from past hurts, celebration for the victories, and a reminder that through it all, you are loved.
