The rain pelted against the windshield of Michael's beat-up Chevrolet as it crawled up the winding road leading to Darkwood Manor. The five teenagers inside – Michael, Jessica, Sarah, Emily, and Tom – peered anxiously through the foggy glass, their expressions a mix of excitement and trepidation. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" Sarah asked, her voice barely audible over the storm raging outside. "I mean, people have gone missing here before." Tom, always the skeptic of the group, scoffed. "That's just urban legend stuff. No one's actually disappeared." "Then why is it abandoned?" Emily countered, her eyes wide as she caught her first glimpse of the looming mansion through a break in the trees. Michael gripped the steering wheel tighter, his knuckles turning white. "Look, we came here for an adventure, right? To see if the stories are true. We can't back out now." Jessica remained silent, her gaze fixed on the ornate iron gates that marked the entrance to the property. As they approached, a chill ran down her spine – the gates seemed to open on their own, creaking ominously as if welcoming them to their doom. The car lurched to a stop in front of the mansion, its headlights illuminating the crumbling facade. Gothic architecture loomed above them, all sharp angles and leering gargoyles. Windows like dead eyes stared down at the teenagers, reflecting flashes of lightning. "Well, we're here," Michael announced, his voice cracking slightly. "Let's go." They stepped out into the howling wind, rain immediately soaking through their clothes. Jessica fumbled with her backpack, extracting flashlights and handing them out to the group. As the beams of light cut through the darkness, strange shadows seemed to dance across the overgrown lawn.

How did such an innocent looking doll become the source of terror around the world? "It's not a real doll, mummy. It wants you to think it's a girl's doll, but it's not. It has a black heart." "Vincent" A victim of Harold's attacks 2014-2015 What is the truth behind this seemingly harmless doll? Is it haunted? Is it cursed? Possessed? Or are the stories about it nothing more than a hoax? After winning the doll on eBay in 2004, Anthony Quinata decided to search for the answer to these questions. Starting from scratch, he described it as a "1,000 piece puzzle with 1,000 pieces missing and no picture to go on." In 2005, convinced that something diabolical was going on with the doll, he took it out of the public eye, hiding it in a storage unit. In 2013, realizing that interest in the doll was still high, he decided to resume his investigation, and his quest to find the truth; no matter where it led him. Determined to separate fact from fiction, his search ultimately led him to a confrontation with Evil itself and the discovery of who really owns the doll. "Extremely creepy and unsettling. If you believe in the paranormal, this frightening account is well documented and presented. If you don't believe or are skeptical, it's still an enjoyable book that is likely to unnerve you." Fiona Dodwell Author of Obsessed and Nails." Contains more than 20 pictures, rarely, or never been seen, in public!

George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead is a cult classic that has resonated with audiences and independent filmmakers ever since its release in 1968. It redefined horror cinema and launched the modern zombie genre that continues with films and series like 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead and The Walking Dead. Ben Hervey's illuminating study of the movie traces Night's influences, from Powell and Pressburger to fifties horror comics, and provides the first history of its reception. Hervey argues that the film broke cultural barriers, fêted at New York's Museum of Modern Art while it was still packing 42nd Street grindhouses. Scene-by-scene analysis meshes with detailed historical contexts, showing why Night was a new kind of horror film: the expression of a generation who didn't want their world to return to normal.
