The Cleburne County Search and Rescue Team recently found and saved a man lost on Mt. Cheaha in Alabama. The man had set out with his wife and kids on the difficult Pinhoti Trail, but once the wife and kids headed back, the man continued on. When he didnt return, his wife panicked and called in the search squadwho eventually found a man in his fifties, weighing about three hundred pounds, wearing leg braces, and using crutches. This story just goes to show that if youre gonna be stupid, youve gotta be tough. Author Bob Cole knows all about it. He grew up on a farm in rural Georgia and used to have to chase cows before getting on the bus for school. Smelling like manure in front of the other kids certainly added a bit of toughness. Since those days, he has worked, married, and seen the world, but through it all, the old adage about toughness and stupidity still holds true. This collection of true short stories follows Bob as he travels along the bumpy road of life. Follow him through a midlife crisis, family hijinks, meeting a new son-in-law, and on a mission trip to foreign lands (after all, stupidity is worldwide). Despite some hard timesand some tough decisionsBob Cole has never lost his sense of humor, and its apparent in this collection that will keep readers laughing, crying, and actin tough!

"HANG IN THERE LIKE HAIR IN A BISCUIT¿ is the first book written by Brad Bradford. Growing up in the red clay of north Alabama during the sixties, he began getting his education in the game of life at an early age. He was able to overcome adversity and a serious eye injury and turn it into an unbelievable inspirational story. Brad actually sold chicken stew door to door out of the trunk of his 1959 Edsel to help pay for his college education. Following graduation from the University of Alabama, he began his journey through the coaching ranks. His leadership as a head football coach at age twenty-eight was phenomenal. He led his high school team to nineteen wins in two years in spite of having only twenty-one players on the team. His dream job at the University of Alabama soon followed. Coach Bradford was selected as the director of Bryant Hall Athletic Dorm and later served as the football recruiting coordinator at his alma mater. When Alabama¿s head coach took a job in the NFL, Brad was married with two boys less than three years of age and out of a job. Never one to give up on his dreams and goals, he joined the University of Louisville football staff as a graduate assistant coach MAKING TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS A MONTH. In less than six months, he became a full time assistant, coach for the running backs and served as the recruiting coordinator. He was named by the media as one of the ¿Best Recruiters in the Nation.¿ Once, seven of the eleven starters on the offensive team were recruited and signed by Brad Bradford. Shortly after the 1994 season, history repeated itself. The head football coach took another job and again, Brad was without a job. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he decided to take on a new challenge and opportunity. A financial planning firm in Alabama selected him as the executive director where he grew the company from 1.5 million dollars in volume to over 70 million in less than seven years. He is now president of his own company, Bradford Consulting Group. In addition to his popularity as a professional speaker, he is an accomplished bluegrass musician. Brad currently resides in Destin, Florida.

The star of TruTV's hit show, Lizard Lick Towing, shares stories of life as a small-town repo man, as well as the "Ron-isms" and "Ron-osophy" he is known for. Crazier than a sack of rabid weasels? Country as cornflakes? Gooder than grits? You bet he is! Week after week, millions of viewers tune in to Lizard Lick Towing to watch Ron Shirley outsmart the fist-swinging, gun-toting folks whose vehicles he’s been hired to repossess. Staring danger in the face, Ron disarms them not with his size or his strength but with his wit—and especially with his trademark funny sayings that have come to be known as “Ronisms.” In Lizard Tales, Ron takes readers on a side-splitting trip through his wacky, colorful life. Growing up and raising heck in the Carolina countryside—where sushi is still called “bait”—young Ronnie was known to gig frogs, mooch moonshine from his pops, hunt, and cruise the strip in Myrtle Beach. He continues to get himself into hilarious scrapes and jams as an adult by tarring a roof during a lightning storm, inviting an angry deer onto his cousin’s brand-new boat, drinking (and fist-fighting) with a priest, matching wits with his wife, Amy, and running repo with his sidekicks at the towing company. So kick back, help yourself to some ’shine (if you got it), let Ron tell you some stories, and prepare yourself to get licked!

After a difficult detour on her road to adulthood, Nola Trenholm is looking to begin anew in New Orleans, and what better way to start her future than with her first house? Although she can’t communicate with ghosts like her stepmother can, luckily Nola knows someone in New Orleans who is able to—even if he’s the last person on earth she wants anything to do with ever again. Beau Ryan comes with his own dark past—a past that involves the disappearance of his sister and parents during Hurricane Katrina—and he’s connected to the unsolved murder of a woman who once lived in the old Creole cottage Nola is determined to make her own...whether the resident restless spirits agree or not.

Sughrue is Crumley's most indelible creation. Now Sughrue is back, in a searing thrill ride of a novel that has the seen-it-all Montana private eye trying to find out which of a small-town shrink's bizarre patients has made off with some highly confidential files.
