During the two past years, meetings Of the Board were held in July and February of each year, being the times designated by law, for making financial settlements with each school and transacting other business within the pro vince Of the Board. The schools have been visited at intervals by the following standing committees of the Board: Executive, Teachers, Graduating Classes and Inspection of Schools and Build ings. These committees have special and distinctive work assigned them. In the discharge of these duties, each mem ber, from personal Observation, has opportunities of gaining a knowledge Of the character and scope Of the work being done by the Normal Schools of the state. To a great extent, however, this condition of things is the legitimate consequence of a healthy reaction, and may be regarded as comparatively permanent.
