This is a book that explores human sexuality as an essential part of true spiritual development. Zulma Reyo begins by outlining the energetic anatomy of the human personality while also discussing the essential ingredients for the building of consciousness. The human sexual impulse is seen as the fundamental expression of the light within us, enabling interchange of vital, bio-physical energies and the sharing of lessons or experiences which can only be obtained by the reflection of another living soul. The primary contacts between the sexes - normal everyday relating, friendship and romantic involvement - are all explored as part of the subtle dynamics of the Alchemy of life.

Download The Spiritual Function of Sex Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
No phase of civilization can rise to the highest possibilities as long as the average mental attitude toward the most vital, the most important and the most sacred function of our being, is one of shame, sinfulness, lust and uncleanness. Even among those who are conscientiously trying to establish better social conditions, there is a deplorable lack of anything like the proper attitude toward the problems of Sex, albeit there are evidences that our social consciousness is alive to the seriousness of the sex problem. Many of our advanced thinkers and scientists are giving their attention to the subject, but it is a theme which has been so long neglected, so hedged about by false standards of morality; so fettered by the system of tabu, that a rational discussion of Sex apart from materia medica, or religion, is difficult.

Download Bodily and Spiritual Hygiene in Medieval and Early Modern Literature Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
While most people today take hygiene and medicine for granted, they both have had their own history. We can gain deep insights into the pre-modern world by studying its health-care system, its approaches to medicine, and concept of hygiene. Already the early Middle Ages witnessed great interest in bathing (hot and cold), swimming, and good personal hygiene. Medical activities grew over time, but even early medieval monks were already great experts in treating the sick. The contributions examine literary, medical, historical texts and images and probe the information we can glean from them. The interdisciplinary approach of this volume makes it possible to view this large field in a complex and diversified manner, taking into account both early medieval and early modern treatises on medicine, water, bathing, and health. Such a cultural-historical perspective creates a most valuable bridge connecting literary and scientific documents under the umbrella of the history of mentality and history of everyday life. The volume does not aim at idealizing the past, but it definitely intends to deconstruct modern myths about the 'dirty' and 'unhealthy' Middle Ages and early modern age.
