Janet Grillo's husband died tragically on December 13, 2001. It wasn't clear whether his death was a suicide, assisted suicide, suggested suicide, or murder. After his death, she was shocked to learn that he was part of an organized crime ring when a close friend of her husband told her he had been involved with the Mafia. Janet wrote this book to help others understand that healing after a tragic loss does not happen overnight. When a sudden loss occurs, we are devastated beyond our wildest imagination. We have so many questions and have no idea where to turn for answers. Instead, we fold within ourselves and pray to God to help us through our pain. Sometimes we wonder if God truly exists. After her loss, Janet sat perpetual adoration at her Catholic church and decided to use her journal to write directly to God. One day she wondered what God would say if He wrote back. She began a new page with "Dear Janet" and signed it "Love, God." Empty lines waited patiently while she waited anxiously to see if her request was crazy or profound. Janet was amazed when God spoke to her through her head, heart, and soul. She shares the inspiring messages in the pages of this book.

Mr. Groves believes that many Christians today are questioning who they truly are, and how they fit into the kingdom of God. They have had doubts about what God says they will become or what they can be, and challenge whether God will keep His word with what He will do in their lives. They are having trouble with their faith and trust in God. Mr. Groves was also having trouble dealing with his trust and faith. One day, Mr. Groves felt Gods presence imparting the message that He would show what was needed to know and to become one with Him. Mr. Groves experiences and journey compelled him to reveal what he has learned to others through Gods wisdom. It is important to include your heart, mind, body, and soul and to, conditionally, love and trust His word. This book reveals Mr. Groves discovery of the power behind trusting Him everything that he does, and everything He says, even when we are in the midst of our troubles. He explains how having faith in God, and God alone, will bring us through whatever we are enduring. As Mr. Groves began to reconnect with God and reveal that he had felt left down by God in the past, he learns a very valuable lesson, and is delivered from the old and into the new with God. His journey through trust and faith has led Mr. Groves to tell his story. John F. Groves writes, I can recall the journey of transformation that God put me through to become one with Him. This was the process of being tucked away inside His cocoon of grace, and trusting His timing, His process and allowing Him to completely remake me through His mercy. It was time of not knowing what or who I would become once I submitted to His will, and not on my own. But I followed Him, even though I could not see what He saw in me!

Our wilderness experience as we travel to the Promised Land is a step-by-step process that will transform the life of a lost sheep crying out in the wilderness into that of an empowered disciple. The essential requirement for ministering to hurting people is to experience God's resurrecting power for yourself. Doing so will change your perspective on life with ordered steps to God's plan. We often sugarcoat Christianity and silence the real story behind our victory. This journey through the wilderness will inspire you to conquer a painful past, low self-esteem, and spiritual torment that is designed to break your spirit and kill your dreams. Take a walk with author Pamela Farrar through trials and tribulations as she presses her way through branches of bad choices, climbs mountains of impossibilities, and traverses the dense terrain of setbacks and disappointments. One of the most influential and well-loved books of Christianity, The Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis appears here in Penguin Classics in a new translation by Robert Jeffery, with an introduction by Max Von Habsburg, notes, a chronology and further reading. The Imitation of Christ is a passionate celebration of God's love, mercy and holiness, which has stimulated religious devotion for over five hundred years. With great personal conviction and deep humanity, Thomas à Kempis (1380-1471) demonstrates the individual's reliance on God and on the words of Christ, and the futility of a life without faith, as well as exploring the ideas such as humility, compassion, patience and tolerance. Thomas spent some seventy years of his life in the reclusive environment of monasteries, yet in this astonishing work he demonstrates an encompassing understanding of human nature, while his writing speaks to readers of every age and every nation. Thomas à Kempis was born at Kempen near Dusseldorf in 1380. He received the priesthood in 1413. Thomas wrote many other devotional works besides The Imitation of Christ, his masterpiece, as well as biographies of Gerald Groote and Florentius Radewyn. He died in 1471. The Very Revd Robert Jeffery was born in 1935 and ordained in 1959. He has written on matters of Church history, spirituality, mission and ecumenism. In 1978, he became Archdeacon of Salop, and was Dean of Worcester from 1987-96 and subsequently Canon and Sub-Dean of Christ Church, Oxford. He retired in 2002 and is an Hon Doctor of Divinity of Birmingham University. Max von Habsburg is the author of Catholic and Protestant Translations of the Imitatio Christi 1425-1650 (2011).
