John Hendricks (1796-1870) was born in Rowan Co., N.C. He married Nancy Macon (1800-1853) in Randolph Co. She was the daughter of Gideon Macon. They were parents to eight children and they raised them at Frankinville, Randolph Co. John Hendricks was a Methodist Circuit Rider for the Methodist Episcopal Church. He died at Rogersville, Indiana. A son, Thomas Alston Hendricks (1823-1879) resided in Cumberland Co., N.C. during the Civil War. His wife, Ann C. Hendricks was buried in Austin, Texas. Descendants lived in Iowa, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kansas and elsewhere.
