Just as things were starting to make some sort of sense, another face appeared over Mavis’ shoulder, presumably belonging to the owner of the third, deep voice. Normally, Will would not have been too bothered by this. However, in this case, the head was a kind of bluish-grey, covered in scales and looked somewhere between a crocodile and a Tyrannosaurus rex... Will is cold and wet on a geography field trip to Wales. Geography is not really Will’s thing – he likes science much better. His teacher Mr. Frobisher, on the other hand, is very enthusiastic and strides along the mountain tracks, leading the group onwards into the ever-thickening evening mist. Will is following along in the rear, much more interested in the games on his phone than in the geography, which he can’t see anyway because of all the mist. Then suddenly, through an altogether unexpected and surprising series of events, Will becomes separated from the group and finds himself having to pilot an alien spaceship together with a dragon and some other unlikely characters across the galaxy to capture a pair of intergalactic criminals... The crew on his spaceship have various unusual talents that help the friends’ adventure, but none of them can actually fly the spaceship without Will’s help. However, things don’t go exactly to plan, and before long the tables are turned, with the criminals chasing them! As their troubles multiply, Will again finds himself separated from the group – and this time he is the only one with a chance of rescuing his new friends... Will’s Galactic Adventure is a work of science-fiction for children aged 10-12 years.

Seth is a surveyor, along with his friend Theo, a leech-like creature running through his skull who tells Seth what lies to his left and right. Theo, in turn, relies on Seth for mobility, and for ordinary vision looking forwards and backwards. Like everyone else in their world, they are symbionts, depending on each other to survive. In the universe containing Seth's world, light cannot travel in all directions: there is a “dark cone” to the north and south. Seth can only face to the east (or the west, if he tips his head backwards). If he starts to turn to the north or south, his body stretches out across the landscape, and to rotate as far as north-north-east is every bit as impossible as accelerating to the speed of light. Every living thing in Seth’s world is in a state of perpetual migration as they follow the sun’s shifting orbit and the narrow habitable zone it creates. Cities are being constantly disassembled at one edge and rebuilt at the other, with surveyors mapping safe routes ahead. But when Seth and Theo join an expedition to the edge of the habitable zone, they discover a terrifying threat: a fissure in the surface of the world, so deep and wide that no one can perceive its limits. As the habitable zone continues to move, the migration will soon be blocked by this unbridgeable void, and the expedition has only one option to save its city from annihilation: descend into the unknown.

Hazel's thrilling galactic adventures continue in this second book of The Galactic Adventures of Hazel series, as she and her classmates go on a much-awaited school immersion program to the Ptorysium Star System. While planet-hopping, Hazel, Dmitri, and Richie stumble upon a world that is in dire straits. Their adventures take on a whole new league when her impish cousins, Nuke and Nike, get involved, and before they know it, there is too much stuff on their plates - warding off Pepops, making new friends and (also) enemies, negotiating terms, and at the same time juggling with their intergalactic classes.Praise for Book One: The Galactic Adventures of Hazel - Gurecoa Amazon: * Written by author, Starlight, The Galactic Adventures of Hazel: Gurecoa is a sensational science fiction adventure...My favorite two elements of this book were the world-building and the characters. This book is a fascinating and unique take on what the future may hold. * A futuristic adventure of universal proportions! Goodreads: * This is a great read and will appeal to kids and adults alike. I am curious to see what kinds of trouble Hazel is going to get the group into next.
