Fuzzy logic control has become an important methodology in control engineering. This volume deals with applications of fuzzy logic control in various domains. The contributions are divided into three parts. The first part consists of two state-of-the-art tutorials on fuzzy control and fuzzy modeling. Surveys of advanced methodologies are included in the second part. These surveys address fuzzy decision making and control, fault detection, isolation and diagnosis, complexity reduction in fuzzy systems and neuro-fuzzy methods. The third part contains application-oriented contributions from various fields, such as process industry, cement and ceramics, vehicle control and traffic management, electromechanical and production systems, avionics, biotechnology and medical applications. The book is intended for researchers both from the academic world and from industry.

The Third International Workshop on Hybrid Artificial Intelligence Systems (HAIS 2008) presented the most recent developments in the dynamically expanding realm of symbolic and sub-symbolic techniques aimed at the construction of highly robust and reliable problem-solving techniques. Hybrid intelligent systems have become incre- ingly popular given their capabilities to handle a broad spectrum of real-world c- plex problems which come with inherent imprecision, uncertainty and vagueness, high-dimensionality, and non stationarity. These systems provide us with the oppor- nity to exploit existing domain knowledge as well as raw data to come up with prom- ing solutions in an effective manner. Being truly multidisciplinary, the series of HAIS workshops offers a unique research forum to present and discuss the latest theoretical advances and real-world applications in this exciting research field. This volume of Lecture Notes on Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) includes accepted papers presented at HAIS 2008 held in University of Burgos, Burgos, Spain, Sept- ber 2008 The global purpose of HAIS conferences has been to form a broad and interdis- plinary forum for hybrid artificial intelligence systems and associated learning pa- digms, which are playing increasingly important roles in a large number of application areas. Since its first edition in Brazil in 2006, HAIS has become an important forum for researchers working on fundamental and theoretical aspects of hybrid artificial intel- gence systems based on the use of agents and multiagent systems, bioinformatics and bio-inspired models, fuzzy systems, artificial vision, artificial neural networks, opti- zation models and alike.

Model-based fuzzy control uses a given conventional or a fuzzy open loop of the plant under control in order to derive the set of fuzzy if-then rules constituting the corresponding fuzzy controller. Furthermore, of central interest are the consequent stability, performance, and robustness analysis of the resulting closed loop system involving a conventional model and a fuzzy controller, or a fuzzy model and a fuzzy controller. The major objective of the model-based fuzzy control is to use the full available range of existing linear and nonlinear design of such fuzzy controllers which have better stability, performance, and robustness properties than the corresponding non-fuzzy controllers designed by the use of these same techniques.

Download Advances in Fuzzy Logic and Technology 2017 Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
This volume constitutes the proceedings of two collocated international conferences: EUSFLAT-2017 – the 10th edition of the flagship Conference of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology held in Warsaw, Poland, on September 11–15, 2017, and IWIFSGN’2017 – The Sixteenth International Workshop on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets and Generalized Nets, held in Warsaw on September 13–15, 2017. The conferences were organized by the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Department IV of Engineering Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Polish Operational and Systems Research Society in collaboration with the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT), the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and various European universities. The aim of the EUSFLAT-2017 was t o bring together theoreticians and practitioners working on fuzzy logic, fuzzy systems, soft computing and related areas and to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing the latest trends and ideas, while the aim of IWIFSGN’2017 was to discuss new developments in extensions of the concept of a fuzzy set, such as an intuitionistic fuzzy set, as well as other concepts, like that of a generalized net. The papers included, written by leading international experts, as well as the special sessions and panel discussions contribute to the development the field, strengthen collaborations and intensify networking.

Download Fuzzy Logic, Identification and Predictive Control Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Modern industrial processes and systems require adaptable advanced control protocols able to deal with circumstances demanding "judgement” rather than simple "yes/no”, "on/off” responses: circumstances where a linguistic description is often more relevant than a cut-and-dried numerical one. The ability of fuzzy systems to handle numeric and linguistic information within a single framework renders them efficacious for this purpose. Fuzzy Logic, Identification and Predictive Control first shows you how to construct static and dynamic fuzzy models using the numerical data from a variety of real industrial systems and simulations. The second part exploits such models to design control systems employing techniques like data mining. This monograph presents a combination of fuzzy control theory and industrial serviceability that will make a telling contribution to your research whether in the academic or industrial sphere and also serves as a fine roundup of the fuzzy control area for the graduate student.
