About the Book In this collection of his essays and writings, James Emerson Hough reflects on the serenity of retirement living in the middle of his own private Certified Forest Preserve and Wildlife Habitat in Southeast Indiana, the inspiration it engenders to be creative, and the ability to focus his thinking. He finds it rewarding to share his perspective, but the selfish reason he writes is that it makes him a better person. When asked why he writes, Mr. Hough admits that writing helps keep his mind alert and head on straight. He’s inspired to read and unlock novel ideas in his mind, research them, and develop compelling techniques to put them together in writing. Writing is his habit. He knows that no one can write anything who does not think that what they write is for the time history, or do anything well who does not esteem their work to be of importance. Old age has yet to creep on the author’s mind, and wisdom will never let him stand with another on unfriendly footing. For him to write what will not become obsolete is to write sincerely to himself while attempting to satisfy his own curiosity. Where Mr. Hough found peace of mind, peace of mind was waiting there. Books are the quietest and most constant of friends, the most patient of teachers, and the most accessible and wisest if counselors. Worthwhile books that get into the world are written by successful people who utter what tens of millions feel though they cannot say. Certain books are vital, not leaving readers what they were; they shut the book a richer person. Finding Peace of Mind and Keeping It is full of energy. About the Author James Emerson Hough was born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky; schooled in the public school system of that community; earned an AS degree studying mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological and zoological sciences at Paducah Junior College; and earned BS (Geology) and MS (Engineering Geology) degrees at the University of Kentucky, Lexington. He retired December 31, 1998, at age 68, ending more than thirty-five years in private practice of the applied earth sciences as licensed professional engineer and licensed professional geologist. Hough was awarded the DSc degree by the American Institute of Geosciences in 2020.

Prague entered the First World War as the third city of the Habsburg empire, but emerged in 1918 as the capital of a brand new nation-state, Czechoslovakia. Claire Morelon explores what this transition looked, sounded and felt like at street level. Through deep archival research, she has carefully reconstructed the sensorial texture of the city, from the posters plastered on walls, to the shop windows' displays, the badges worn by passers-by, and the crowds gathering for protest or celebration. The result is both an atmospheric account of life amid war and regime change, and a fresh interpretation of imperial collapse from below, in which the experience of life on the Habsburg home-front is essential to understanding the post-Versailles world order that followed. Prague is the perfect case study for examining the transition from empire to nation-statehood, hinging on revolutionary dreams of fairer distribution and new forms of political participation.

This may be the one of most fascinating book youve ever read. There are many things man and woman does not understand. When we read the Bible, it foretells the events that have unfolded since the beginning of time. The Bible speaks truthfully; and it informs us on the past, present, and future. Since the fall of man, evil has had its dark forces lurking here and there, and many people are deceived by it. At this very moment, the works of darkness are taking place; therefore, be on guard to protect yourself. People practice witchcraft for self-motivation, power, and control; however, most may not realize the devastation it causes the person they are trying to harm. Questions go unanswered for countless ones who seek help for this type of darkness. I am Merry Harris Tillman, and I would like to inform the world of the dark forces at work. What is the real truth behind witchcraft? Is it good or is it bad? I will shed light on what witchcraft is and the harm it causes. There are many dangerous situations where life is at risk. It comes in many forms, such as calamities, accidents, and crimes. It exists in locations possessed by evil spirits known as territorial spirits.

A STOCKPORT TRILOGY In part one A week or so following their wedding, the 'NEW PALADIUM' was showing a Laurel and Hardy comedy film, followed by the main feature "Hold your Man" with Jean Harlow and Clark Gable. It was described as 'A really gripping production, both intensely dramatic and romantic. A film for adults only. Little did they know that they were soon to be embroiled in a worldwide drama not just for adults, but children too? The 'gripping drama' that week was for six nights only. However, the drama of war, soon to be upon us was for 2,194 nights and days. In part two Babies had been born there. A mother, driven mad with hunger, screamed at me to give her 'milch fur meine kinder', and thrust the tiny mite into my arms, then wandered off unable to shed just one tear as she was so dehydrated. He said, as I opened the bundle, I found that the baby had been dead for days and stunk to high heaven. As he told us what he had seen, he really was in a bad way, with tears in his eyes, his whole being was trembling uncontrollably. As he wandered off he said, "That day was the worst day of my life." Rumour has it that he was repatriated soon after. Poor kid" The camp was "Bergen Belsen" concentration camp. In part three As I waited in line, I could see little of what was going on and as it turned out, was glad I could not see. When my turn came the nurse said are you Kenneth Gibbons, yes miss. My height and weight were recorded; I was quite weedy for my age. I remember being called Belsen once as I was so thin. I am sure it stopped as soon as people knew what it really meant. A listen to my chest and then the nurse said take your trousers down so the doctor can examine you. As I did not have any underpants on, and the fact that I was standing in front of a lady nurse, I was embarrassed beyond belief; The Doctor put his fingers at the side of my "robin" as mam called it and asked me to cough. Apparently, it was to assess the development of my genitals but I felt as if I had been naked in the middle of Mersey square."
