Technical solutions This book is based on the description provided in the 40th Chapter of the Book of Ezekiel, verse by verse, and the design has been further developed to cover all the necessary aspects to provide a faultless operation of the building; planned passageways to connect the buildings and vertical communication including stairways, elevators, terraces and balconies, thus allowing a fluid movement of people and a correct functioning of the Temple. Indeed, the planned building provides a full range of necessary services including toilets, places to rest, places to eat, places of worship for the Kohanim כֹּהֲנִים , areas for other Temple staff and more. As it has been foreseen and planned, the whole building shall encompass an underground level that will provide storage areas for the Temple itself, as well as for other dependencies. Also, considering that this shall be a place where a massive influx of people can be expected, it is also very important to anticipate the need for large parking areas. Personally, I consider that it would be wrong to locate parking space on the underground level, for this Temple shall be a Holy Place and thus it must be fully respected, so the parking areas must be established outside of the complex. Of course, security and safety concerns should also be seriously considered and planned. Therefore, it is my idea to build and adjoining separate building that will provide parking space for visitors; if necessary, this additional building may also be developed on the city outskirts, establishing a public transportation service exclusive for the visitors to the Holy Temple, in order to avoid unnecessary long waits and traffic congestion. To properly achieve the purpose of providing an efficient meeting place, a practical point of encounter to thousands of visitors, the towers which are indeed present at every portal of the Holy Temple shall provide a proper vertical access to the buildings, equipped with stairways and elevators, as well as with many other services. Also, special attention has been put into the height level of the diverse atria. Although a great majority of authors represent them as having a single level, the text clearly mentions the presence of several stairways. Moreover, following inspiration from the buildings constructed by King Solomon ( מֹה 􀋄 שְׁ), in the western part I plan to include two additional buildings that may serve as resting areas for the Levites ( לויים ), that may be on duty at the Temple on any given day.

Presently, there exists only a very small number of projects that are finished and complete enough to allow the works of the Temple of Ezekiel to be finally achieved. Most of the existent projects are only semi-compliant with the description of the Temple as specified on each and every verse, and they are lacking the constructive, architectural, functional elements of the building. In other cases, the projects supposedly make reference to the Beit Hamikdash בית המקדש according to Ezekiel, while otherwise showing images of the Temple built by King Herod. Therefore, one has to realize that the Book of Ezekiel, still today, is often misunderstood. The aim of my project is to effectively comply, verse by verse, with the exact description provided by Prophet Ezekiel; in addition, I also want to make sure that the project meets all necessary requirements that must be considered today, as a truly viable project for construction. The מִדְרָשׁ‬ Midrash tells us that when our Creator Eternal commanded Ezekiel to describe the dimensions of the Temple to the Jewish people, Ezekiel asked, "Master of the Universe, why are You telling me to go and tell Israel the form of the House; they are now in exile in the land of our enemies--is there anything they can do about it? Let them be, until they return from the exile. Then I will go and inform them."The מִדְרָשׁ‬ Midrash explains how our Creator Eternal answered to Prophet Ezekiel: "Should the construction of My House be ignored because My children are in exile? The study of the design of the Holy Temple as detailed in the Torah can be equated to its actual construction. Go tell them to study the form of the Holy Temple. As a reward for their study and their occupation with it, I will consider it as if they actually built the Holy Temple."With great dedication, fully immersing into the text, comparing diverse texts and images, and also using a great deal of imagination, I sincerely believe that I have been blessed with the opportunity to decipher, intuit, view and project my present proposals shared in this book, not an easy task, although at times it may have been demanding, difficult and laborious, it has also been very inspiring and satisfying to me, it is a blessing.I do perceive one important difference between my own books and other books I have encountered from other authors, which is that mine are all fully technical books, based on the scriptures, complementing with research upon archeology books, most other authors intend to explain religious aspects of the Temple, while I have instead dedicated myself, as an architect, to understand and recreate the Temple, verse to verse, aiming to not leave anything aside. Leaving my personal comments aside, I believe my test to be neutral, corresponding strictly to the measures given by Prophet Ezekiel; applying the concept of symmetry, analyzing the visual appearance of different sets of buildings when seen together, considering the repetition and rotation of the Portals.Through this personal process, engaging in my studies and experiencing the description provided to us by the Prophet Ezekiel יְחֶזְקֵאל (Yechezkel), a moment came when I realized within myself a coherent view to encompass the descriptions of the Temple, one feasible proposal towards the manifestation of the Holy Temple, as lived and described in the Book of Ezekiel. It is indeed my sincere wish, purpose and hope that my work may contribute, in some way, to bring light into this enigmatic knowledge, the Book of Ezekiel, to develop and share an evermore real and manifest possibility, that we may indeed conceive and further imagine and plan the Holy Temple, as feasible, real, necessary building to fully manifest in our near future.Come join us in this inspiring and educational adventure, understanding our future Temple as described in the 40th Chapter of the Book of Ezekiel.Architect Sonia Helena Hidalgo Zurita

I believe everyone has a purpose in life; when I first started drawing plans for the Temple there was a permanent question in my mind: "Why me?"Today I answer to myself, simply as follows: "Why not?"

This study focuses on post-Visigothic Latin chronicles as testimonies of an intense search for models of stability and social cohesion on the Iberian Peninsula. As the principal source of Iberian political thought between the eighth and mid-thirteenth centuries, these texts have long been regarded from the perspective of modern-day national boundaries of a political entity called Spain. From the post-national perspective of Mediterranean studies, which considers Iberian centres of power in cultural contact with the broader world, post-Visigothic Iberian chronicle writing is seen as a cultural practice that seeks to reconcile the imperative of unity and stability with the reality of diversity and social change. The book examines, firstly, the Andalusi Christian narrative of Visigothic political demise, which originated in Iberian dhimm? communities between the mid-eighth and mid-ninth centuries. Second, it explores the narrative of sovereignty, developed in Asturias-Leon from the late ninth century onwards. Finally, it examines the historiographical manipulation of both of these traditions in Rodrigo Jimenez de Rada's Historia de rebus Hispanie (1243). The ongoing contact between Iberian Latin textual communities and the broader Mediterranean is interpreted as central to both the development of Iberian historical mythology and its historiographical renovation.

Today's moviegoers and critics generally consider some Hollywood products--even some blockbusters--to be legitimate works of art. But during the first half century of motion pictures very few Americans would have thought to call an American movie "art." Up through the 1950s, American movies were regarded as a form of popular, even lower-class, entertainment. By the 1960s and 1970s, however, viewers were regularly judging Hollywood films by artistic criteria previously applied only to high art forms. In Hollywood Highbrow, Shyon Baumann for the first time tells how social and cultural forces radically changed the public's perceptions of American movies just as those forces were radically changing the movies themselves. The development in the United States of an appreciation of film as an art was, Baumann shows, the product of large changes in Hollywood and American society as a whole. With the postwar rise of television, American movie audiences shrank dramatically and Hollywood responded by appealing to richer and more educated viewers. Around the same time, European ideas about the director as artist, an easing of censorship, and the development of art-house cinemas, film festivals, and the academic field of film studies encouraged the idea that some American movies--and not just European ones--deserved to be considered art.
